WATAUGA, Texas (March 4) - Police in Texas have uncovered a disturbing videotape.

They say it shows a 17-year-old teaching two of his nephews to smoke marijuana. The boys are just two and five years old.

According to police in Watauga, Texas, near Dallas, a man is seen placing a marijuana cigarette into one child's mouth and, in another part of the video, a different boy is shown smoking on his own.

Police found the tape last month while investigating some burglaries.

The 17-year-old faces a felony charge of injury to a child. An 18-year-old also seen on the tape faces a burglary charge.

i'd be irate if i were the mother of those children. two and five is so young. twelve is young to smoke pot, but two?

Now the children are sent to foster care to be molested...

yeah just saw this on the news...

the kids won't get sent to foster care though, it was the uncle and his friend that gave the pot to the kids not the parents.
 
They are in child protective services right now.

So they have all ready been highly traumatized way more than any hit from a joint could do.

Way to go government.

WATAUGA, Texas -- A 17-year-old faces a felony charge of injury to a child after police found a videotape that appears to show him and another man teaching his 2- and 5-year-old nephews to smoke marijuana, police said.

The video shows two children being taught to smoke marijuana and the men encouraging them to "get high," police said. A man can be seen placing a marijuana cigarette into a baby's mouth and, in another part of the video, a different boy is shown smoking on his own.

"The video contains disturbing images of the young children being badgered into smoking a marijuana cigar, commonly referred to as a 'blunt,"' according to a release from the Watauga Department of Public Safety.

The bail for Demetris McCoy, 17, was set at $150,000. He remained in jail Friday night, police said.

Police found the video Feb. 22 while investigating McCoy and Vanswan Polty, 18, in connection with some area burglaries. Polty faces burglary charges and is free on $22,000 bail, according to court records.

The children have been in the custody of Child Protective Services since last week, a spokeswoman said.

What the hell is wrong with them? I'd never do that to my little cousin or nephew/niece if I had nephew/niece. It's even stupider that they video taped it!
 
That kid shouldnt of done that.... but I remember my sister teaching me how to smoke weed at 11 or 12. She even had some guy shot gun the smoke to me and they laughed and were all "thats probably the closest she has gotten to kissing a guy" and whats funny is my sister is hardcore straight edge now... and to even speak of her smoking weed in college is unfathomable, lol.

Anyways, if someone made my 2 or 5 year old smoke weed id be PISSED.
 
They didn't force anyone to get high.

They put the joint/blunt in the babies mouth as a joke, but the baby didn't actually smoke it obviously, babies can't fucking smoke without a smoke chamber or something.

The 5 year old smoked on his own, which I admit is fucking a bit extreme, but putting them in CPS is only going to fuck their life up in a serious way.

My best friend has a picture his mom took of him in the 70s when he is a baby, with a ounce or so of herb placed in his hand, and a joint held on his lips so it looks like he is smoking.

Big fucking deal.

Now imagine if he had been placed in foster care for that stupid shit.

This is just sensationalist garbage.
 
morally i find the actions deplorable, but logically, it doesn't bother me greatly, in the sense that i don't find the marijuana more dangerous than chicken nuggets from mickey d's or a plethora of many other foods that a child eats.

but in the sense that the idiot taped it, and simply that he did it, he has now punished the children by making them lose their family and forced into government care. that.....that makes me want to wring their neck. make them suffer, not the kids and the parents.

did the parents know? hell, do the kids even have parents? people who are stupid enough to video kids doing drugs aren't the type whose families are exactly stable.

yes, i know, i am so evil for thinking that a bit of thc is less dangerous than deep fried mystery meat. or inhaling one or two hits off a joint are worse than inhaling the usual toxic pollutants in the air on a daily basis. and obviously, since i think that, it means i am a proponent of getting all kids high. *now is my turn for the rolls eye smilie*

it isn't as though i get my kids high, i don't even smoke. but i am not misinformed of the health effects/benefits of the drugs.

any more comments on my parenting skills can be left in your head. let's stay on topic....and like i said, i find it to be morally dangerous, but not medically. which means it shouldn't have led to the children being punished by being taken away from those who had custody of them because of the actions of the uncle.

as lurker said, the real danger in this situation in the emotional trauma of being taken away from those who love and care for them (assuming it was not the uncles who are in this position)

yes, smoking has its inherent dangers. doing it once or twice, not gonna agree that there are medical dangers, sorry. is this my turn to say i believe you are ignorant and stupid? not gonna go there, i try to stay civil on these boards. why don't you try that?

aaaand...back on topic, no more digression on my part.

edit, i see you edited your post, good move. we can agree to disagree that there are more dangers to the child caused from taking the kids from the home than a hit or two off a joint. the grandmother is aware now of the actions of her grandkids while she wasn't home. and the men are being punished. that is enough.

yeah there's someone (dont wanna say I know him or not) who had his 3 year old hit the blunt one time. I guess he thought of it as some sort of joke, and it did make alot of people in the room bust out laughin. but I just thought it was sad. I could never really hang out with him again. I couldn't get over the fact that if he let his kid do that shit, who knows how fucked up he'll turn out.

I've seen little ass kids, maybe 10 or 11 years old gettin high tho.
 
i don't think kids that young really get high from pot or other drugs. i dont think they'd usually even feel weird. their minds are rather different from ours
 
I think part of it is intent. Like I said earlier, young Rastafarian kids learn to smoke with their parents. I have no trouble with that. It looks to me though that the dad was just pulling a "lolol lets get the 2 year old and the cat high!". If thats the way he thinks about his children this might serve as a good wakeup call.
