Boyfriend hitting me.

GET OUT of the relationship now! Cut this person out of your life.

Contact the police or authorities and get a restraining order if you have to. A friend of mine was in an abusive relationship with a man who would abuse and hit her, he broke into her house, and he wound up stalking her and another woman he was once involved with.

A year and six months is not that long at all and if you value your safety GET OUT of this relationship NOW and break up with him or do whatever you have to so you do not have contact with this person anymore at all.

Also tell your close friends and family members how you're in a relationship with someone that's hitting you and abusing you.

Yeah OP, you're in group of people classed as being in serious physical danger.
Take care and watch your back, and if you split up with him tell others so people are aware of him & his violent potential. Not a time to keep hush hush. PriestTheyCalledHim gives good advice, this isn't an over reaction - there are all sorts of horrible statistics out there that speak for themselves.

To be honest, I have two views on this situation. Evyerone here is like "guy hit you, he'll never change". I've been with my fiance 4 years, during a short period I had a serious anger problem where we both hit (as in punched on shoulder, not super hard or anything, but bad enough to be a problem) and I have grown much since and can't believe the problem I used to have. I do not understand how I was so mean to someone I love so dearly - my little angel.

So these people can change, but I think it had more to do with my spiritual awakening that I've changed from that than anything else - and I was never involved in meth.

Etiehr way though, he's caught up in some dark stuff right now, just distance yourself a bit - who knows.

Leave him that is completley unacceptable. Get a restraining order as well if u feel threatened. Im sorry hun but you can and ONLY will go up once u leave this monster. Let love unblind you and really take a look at where your relationship is heading.

both hitting each other is different than only one is getting the beating.

I'm srry bt u must listen to these posts, u have to get out, asap.
Let his junk ass sober up, then go to counselin, then jst maybe y'all can try to repair
the damage

Leave him. Get away and keep yourself safe. It sounds like it's escalating, or getting worse. It will continue to get worse until you get out of there. Tell him to call you when he's clean, and refuse to talk to him until then. If he truly loves you, he'll get help, clean up, and come back for you. even then, if he EVER, under any circumstances, lays his hands on you again, leave and never look back. True story- a friend of mine had a boyfriend, they'd been together for a while, he had a drug problem (not occasional use- total abuse/withdrawal cycles) and sever paranoia. He got convinced she was cheating, burned her clothes in the middle of the room so she couldn't leave the house, locked her in the bedroom when he was gone, regularly hurt her, and then suddenly decided he was in love with her best friend and left her. I'm not trying to scare you honey, I'm trying to warn you- get out while you can. If you can't leave completely, stay with friends or family for awhile and tell him to come knock on the door when he's clean. Good luck, and remember you are better than this. You deserve better, and you can sure as hell do better.
