So I'm trying to get some clean time under my belt so I can get my life together and start being somewhat more productive creatively and career-wise. It'd be foolish of me to state that I'll never use opiates again, but at least for now I'm not - nor have I been since last Sunday and if I can make it until the end of the week then I'll be very proud of myself.
As is always the case when I'm not blowing 75% of my unemployment money on Heroin, the cash is mounting up and so I'd to spend it on some books. At Christmas I bought 'A Short History of Nearly Everything' by Billy Bryson and Michio Kaku's 'Physics of the Impossible' but I just cant bring myself to read them yet as I'm very, very down. I still have both bios of Leonard Cohen and Keith Richards to get through too - but right now I really just want something I can relate to. So if anyone knows of any books detailing experiences with Heroin Addiction or Major Depression (which I was diagnosed with a long time ago and which I have waiting for me when I'm clean anyway) I'd so very much appreciate it. Thanks
PS: I've been flicking through Aleister Crowleys 'Diary of A Drug Fiend' recently and have found it to be just the kind of thing I'm looking for - so I can recommend that to anyone searching for anything of a similar vein.
