What type of bong do you have? What do you use to clean your bong, also how often do you clean your bong do you let resin build up and do you smoke your resin?

Just a suggestion to add all wet pieces. I only own bubblers as they conserve better and hit smoother. My last bong was a strait up JB no frills. Nice bong it was, then the police took it :p.
 
The last bubbler almost killed me, as I was driving I was hitting it I looked up and was on the wrong side of the road a car was coming straight at me as I swerve back to the other side I look in my rearview and it's a CHP U turning with his lights on:(
 
right now im using a mount franklin water bottle coz my stupid drunk friends broke my cyclone.

i only use water to clean it normally, which i do on a fairly regular basis. i try not to let the resin build up but if i have a lot of weed well lets face it, im stoned all the time and never really get round to cleaning it, so i clean it when it gets blocked in that case lol. after a while cleaning it with water isnt effective enough. this doesnt apply to the stem i never bother giving that a good wash, i just scrape it clean or use pipe cleaners, but i acetone wash the bong every few months or so probably, just so it looks shiny and new again. probably isnt really 100% necessary imo tho, cleaning it out with water is usually fine unless you just leave a bong for months and the water evaporates out and it gets a massively thick crusty resin layer or something like that. thats how i remember my old bong being after i left it in the cupboard when i bought a new one anyway.

fuck smoking resin.

unless you have to... true definition of scraping the bottom of the barrel.
 
Usually I use 99% alocohol with rock salt cleans it right out. have you ever tried smoking all the resin that builds up in your bong? it get's you so much higher.

Someone should open a thread of crazy stoner stories haha.

after a certain amount of resin i just cant be bothered anymore. and the flavour isnt something i find particularly pleasant. do you extract or something? ive never really bothered lookin into anything, i just smoke it when i have to and avoid it at all other times. might start saving it all for a while and see if i can extract thc from it. at least i could prove to myself whether or not its worth it.

i feel like i get stoned off resin, but i have the same old argument with my friends about it every now and then, whether its thc or oxygen dep a la glue sniffing. i dont really know, i guess i dont really care THAT much but itd be nice to know. i mean we are an inquisitive bunch arent we.
 
the resin is mostly just a leftover byproduct of burning thats escaped the filtration and is otherwise going into your lungs as far as im aware. remember, theres a lot more stuff than thc in weed. like when you burn any other plant down and it turns black, same thing. doesnt mean it has any thc tho. hence the argument.

ever noticed how little hash you actually get out of bud when you extract it? assuming that you get at least a reasonable portion of it when you smoke it, how much thc is left? that is the question. i dont know the answer.

im actually on your side with this, usually i argue the PRO side of resin because im SURE im on a thc high, not a glue sniffing high. everyone else argues against me.

EDIT: this is because im the only one i know who actually scrapes the bottom of that barrel. the rest of my mates dont bother.
 
its not pure thc man, youre probably going off your perceived effects of resin smoking?

hash and resin dont taste the same, and resin definitely tastes like shit, because its mostly just absolute junk thats leftover.

the reason you might feel super high on the resin, is because you are getting SOME thc effects, combined with oxygen deprivation (a definite effect of smoking resin)

but youve inspired me to save my resin for a while, ill let u know how much thc i get out of a few months of resin :P
 
It probably varies based on how the bowl collects resin and perhaps the quality of the weed smoked. I have definitely gotten extremely high off of resin, so there can certainly be a lot of THC trapped in it, haha let me know bro.
 
Would the only way to find out the certain cannabinoid levels in the resin be a GC/MS? Swim understands that the levels would vary from sample to sample but the high seem to be quite different from a standard cannabis high.
 
thats why i agree with you, because ive had varying amounts of effectiveness from my resin. and yes, ive smoked a shit ton of the stuff even tho i hate it. i cant imagine why id do that if i didnt get something out of it.

the varying effectiveness leads me to believe some amount of thc is definitely in there, the question is how much. ive read a bunch of smart sounding responses over this issue in various forums, but nobody is convincing enough, as both sides seem to make pretty valid points. its just something we have to test for sure i guess. fortunately i have access to a GS if necessary, so ill see how we go. i was figuring i could just extract it as normal, but i guess im not entirely sure about that. i cant remember shit all from chemistry :/
 
yeah ill give it a whirl. right now i have no resin and no pot tho, so im kinda up shit creek without a paddle on that one til about 5pm...
