i love smoking blunts. blunts obviously contain a tobacco leaf, but i feel like most of it is just some sort of filler paper. mainly i use White Owl white grape and blueberry Swisher cigarellos, just the leaf and the outside, and of course i dump the tobacco filler out and throw some herb in there and twist it up.
It is known to me that tobacco greatly diminishes the effect of benzos. is anyone certain of the interaction between burning a blunt while on a xanax or valium? is there enough tobacco present to dimenish the affect of a benzo?

From what I understand, smoking tobacco will reduce benzos' peak plasma levels by as much as 50%, meaning it will significantly lessen the effects of the drug if tobacco is ingested before it has been fully absorbed (this seems to only be true of certain benzodiazepines, the information out there is scarce though). I don't know how much tobacco is contained in the cigar wrap itself, but I would guess that smoking a blunt would not be quite as bad in this sense as general tobacco use, especially heavy/daily users. My advice would be, that if you are really concerned, find something else to smoke out of or wait until the peak effects of the benzo have passed.
