I can't stress enough how important communicating your feelings is. I've never been good at doing it at all, in fact, I've found it downright hard, nearly impossible.

That is so true. So why can't I stop thinking about someone I find so hard to talk to? I can't have a decent conversation about normal things with her, so how on Earth would I be able to talk to her about emotional stuff???
For once in my life I put in a great deal of effort with someone. Pity though because the feelings wern't mutual. Looking back I see it wasn't that much effort at all -or- was it too much? Because no matter how much effort I put in it won't change the fact that she isn't intrested.

On being single: atm it suits my lifestyle, not to say there's aren't things I miss about being in a relationship, there are many. It's just totally not the right time for me to form any romantic entanglements.

now i was totally devastated when i had my soul crushed by the evil ex...but im feeling good now! i have awesome friends and a few in particular are making life so much more bearable. i could do this for a while. i need to sort myself out before i get back on the horse ;) although i love the horse im on now...injoke...ok...sorry ;)
 
Single life isn't too bad (although it does have its moments). Everyone I've met lately who I do have an interest seems to already have a boyfriend. Is it just me or has anyone else noticed this?

I've totally noticed this. In fact it's the biggest problem in me meeting someone. At the age of 28 I feel like the all good ones have already been snapped up and I'm just left with the rejects :(
I know it's a horrible way to think but I can't help it.
It also tells me that maybe I'm one of the rejects too :(

That is one of the most incredibly MEAN things I've ever had the misfortune to read on this website. hijinx didn't leave the country because of anything RR did.. he's a wonderful guy and any girl would be lucky to have him. I can't believe you'd sink as low as to say that to him.

I took that comment as being sarcasm. Sarcasm is hard to understand on an electronic medium.
I really don’t think she meant it to be bad.

Whether or not it was meant to be sarcasm, there are some things you just don't say. -shrugs- It just came across as really insensitive, and maybe what RR said was also insensitive, but in a situation such as his, where he's desperately missing the love of his life, I think it was inappropriate.
You don't have to listen to me, that's just my two cents.
