well given that the thread is called 'mummy, i sprained my wrist' i think it may be time to bring in a little kerouac to save what little cultural refinement we have (not that masturbation is above culture...)
see the essence to being single is the prinicipal of 'can't be fucked' (hehe, unintended pun) one which seems to be a dominating force in australian society today. for me it's just being involved in too many other things... which segues nicely into kerouac
'i don't think that they can understand me coz i like too many things and get hung up running til i drop from one falling star to another...' or something along those lines

okies Semi... first of all congrats and mad huggles, it's hard to find someone that you like and likes you.
Firstly, on the drug thing, sus out what kind of music she likes, does she go to any events etc? As you get to know her better it should be easier to figure out weather she's ok with it or not. If she goes to events, find out what she thinks of all the people on drugs, or if you're watching TV wiht her and the drug ads come on ask her what she thinks of them, does she think they're effective etc. All of this will all obviously be easier as you get to know her. Just because her friends are conservative doesn't mean she is.
And as for her friends pissing you off... Forget about them they're not important, I'm sure you may have to spend some time with them, tolerate them because they're important to her, you guys won't be spending every moment with her friends, she'll spend some with yours and you'll spend a lot of time together without them.
