So where is everyone from on here? Mostly Australia? Or does it vary? I'm in the USA.Dancing chode? Lol; yeah he's hilarious. Good find
So the site is headquartered in Melbourne, Australia, but it has an international audience, of course. One of the mods not too long ago said ~25% of Bluelighters are in the United States. That seems about right; Reddit is a much more U.S.-centric site by comparison in my estimate. I mostly base this on interactions with others, dialectical differences that I notice, and non-American English spellings, like "colour", "organisation", "programme", "centre", "theatre", "mum", "pingers", "rocked up [to a location]", &c.So where is everyone from on here? Indeed!!, I couldn't agree with you more on the International spelling of English vocabulary compared to the U.S. academic choice. As well as the definitions of certain words have definitely been switched up on us, and behind our backs, unfortunately. I'm just not sure if it was abruptly in the past several years or incrementally over decades. So the site is headquartered in Melbourne, Australia, but it has an international audience, of course. People from the US have a tendency to "forget" about the rest of the English-speaking world and take a very American-centric view, but it's not our fault. First there's the relative geographic isolation – that doesn't help – and that mentality is programmed into us as school kids. Seriously, from kindergarten onward, most schools have children recite the "Pledge of Allegiance" every morning in school, while standing, their right hands over their hearts. This sort of national pride is seen as dangerous nationalism in some other countries, like for example Germany. Granted though, the Germans might be a little sensitive on the topic…
Languages evolve. I like most of the American conventions better, preferring "color", "armor", "favor", "pharmacopeia", "aluminum", "program", "analog", "tire", "organize", etc. However, the British date notation schema makes better sense, so like: DD-MM-YYYY. Today is 07-10-2023 or "7 October 2023" in the UK, not 10-07-2023 or "October 10th, 2023" as it is in the U.S. And why the ordinals? Lol, tradition that's what.English vocabulary compared to the U.S. academic choice.
Weird, right? Also playing the national anthem at non-international sporting events is a bit odd as well to most Europeans. Olympic games, World Cup games, etc. are of course different. But a domestic football game? Strange.I too remember reciting the "Pledge of Allegiance".
Hey there's a word that changed due to popular misuse: "nauseous". It used to mean "something that induces nausea in others." Like: "What is that nauseous smell?"However, learning the cold hard truth about what's really going on, regarding foreign policy in the U.S. and then 9/01 & 3/20, it's left me at first in shock and now just nauseous.
Lmao, ok then. It's nauseating to me the way TPTB are causing all these wars and then turn around and say it's prophecy coming true.Languages evolve. And a distinction was drawn between:
Today, however, the use of nauseous to mean "affected with nausea" is so common that it is generally considered to be standard.
- "nauseated" – "affected with nausea" and
- "nauseous" – "causing nausea."
Yeah, like a game of domestic American football between two NFL teams in the U.S. – they play the National Anthem at the beginning and I'm told by my European friends that this is viewed as an odd practice. To most Western European countries, this looks like some form of country-wide narcissism that smacks of dangerous nationalist pride. In Germany, they especially shy away from nationalism I am told.I'm not sure if I understand what you're saying about National Anthem being played at domestic football games. Are you meaning football games being played on American soil between two college teams or two NFL teams?? That it's weird for them to play the National Anthem before their games??
When I was incarcerated it occurred to me that every leap year inmates serve an extra day in prison... And due to the 13th amendment to the US Constitution, slavery still exists in the form of prisoners. Seriously read the wording.I'm hearing some things about the calendar
AMENDMENT XIII
Section 1. Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction.
Section 2. Congress shall have power to enforce this article by appropriate legislation.
Wow!! I never thought of it like that. Very interesting. It's almost as if tptb deliberately did these things to embarrass us or humilate us for times like right now. I assumed most countries sang their own national anthems at their own games, but apparently not. And what's up with Germany not being allowed to have any pride at all in their country. That's sad really because everyone should be proud of where they come from not ashamed.Yeah, like a game of domestic American football between two NFL teams in the U.S. – they play the National Anthem at the beginning and I'm told by my European friends that this is viewed as an odd practice. Oh yeah don't get me started on the Criminal Justice system in this country. Talk about corruption. It's not called Just Us for nothing. It makes sense, I'm just used to it as an American.

You're taking it to an extreme, I think. No one is disallowing German pride. It's something they self-impose as a safeguard against the potential of another war-causing, sudden rise in nationalism, (pseudo)-scientific racism, Nazi-ism and/or fascism again in Germany. After all, "Nazi" is short for essentially "National Socialist Germany Worker's Party" If you look at the end of the 19th century into the beginning of the 20th century and you follow that through to the second World War, it's clear that nationalism across the globe was at a zenith. Eugenics jumped off in the U.K. and quickly spread to the U.S., Canada, Australia, and most of western Europe. The Germans in particular had some real zest for eugenics, and it's worth noting here that Heinrich Himmler studied to become a geneticist before getting into politics and public office with the Third Reich. The (Nazi) govt. had a eugenics program in place whereby they committed involuntary euthanasia against people with mental disabilities and deformities, against people deemed homosexual, criminal, or in general seen as "life unworthy of life".And what's up with Germany not being allowed to have any pride at all in their country.
Should they though? Why? Does it really matter? What about being neither ashamed nor proud of where you're from? It's not like you had anything to do with the life you were born into. Nobody gets to choose who their blood relatives are. It's all arbitrary; what's to be proud of?That's sad really because everyone should be proud of where they come from not ashamed.
You? I gave up over half a decade in federal prison for a victimless, so-called "drug crime". I should do a podcast or something called "The War on The War on Drugs". Or perhaps call it "The War on Drugs, on Drugs", idk.Oh yeah don't get me started on the Criminal Justice system in this country.
Yeah like how January 6th had police insiders. Also, one of the prisons I did time in had Masonic stonework running the perimeter of the building, you know, the compass and square? There's something very special going on behind our backs and the police are NOT going to protect us from anything. Matter of fact they will be following orders just like the military follows orders. And they've already gotten rid of any constitution follower. And this protect and serve is the Masonic Lodge, not the American people.
Right, you've got Terrence and Dennis McKenna, Darrell Lemaire, William Pickard, Tim Leary, Ram Dass, Ann & Alexander Shulgin, David Nichols, Maria Sabina, Aldous Huxley, Paul Stamets, Alan Watts, Ken Kesey, Carl Hart, Owsley Stanley, Carlos Castaneda, Quanhan Parker, Hamilton Morris, Nicholas Sand & Tim Scully, Casey Hardison, Ken Kesey, William Burroughs, Jack Kerouac, Rick Doblin, Alan Ginsberg, Alex & Allyson Grey, Ralph Metzner, D.M. Turner, Robert Anton Wilson, Julie Holland, Silvia Polivoy, the list goes on…Legends. When I read "Icons" I thought of Albert Hoffman, John C. Lilly, Hunter S. Thompson, et al.
Wow!! I'm loving this conversation!! Funny you mention podcast about drugs and the war on them. I have a folder full of research titled " Drugs of History and a History of Drugs", so-called "drug crime". I should do a podcast or something called "The War on The War on Drugs". Or perhaps call it "The War on Drugs, on Drugs", idk.
You certainly should, I'm actually looking for someone to help me start my channel. Perhaps we should talk about doing one together. If not, at least I'm looking to pay someone to help me get started with the technical stuff. I've already purchased my equipment and lighting etc. I'm just disappointed in YouTube and their censorship is through the roof. It's difficult to get subscribers without starting on YouTube. Especially if you are doing controversial truth telling, not to mention it can be life threatening. I'm talking about Cancer cures and the Rockefeller Foundation and American Medical Association et al. And how cruel they have been with their psychiatrist and Eugenics throughout history. We should have never been visiting a doctor's office, we should have never been working 40 hours a week. This has all been a diabolical scheme to keep us dumbed down. I'd have to start on Odysee or Rumble because YouTube would put me in jail. Lol. I should do a podcast
You're absolutely correct on that. When I say proud I'm talking about cultural pride. And you're right when you speak of the United States. I'm appalled to learn our country has been the freaking terrorists of the world. The American people are about to experience something so horrific and detrimental to our existence. That subject is an unpopular one, however I want to make sure we're on the same page here as I do not wish to offend you or anyone else on here. I realize this is a friendly recreational drug forum. And before I present my argument about the previous topics, I want to make sure you are interested in my opinion. I also want to make sure you know I've been knee deep in researching the actual facts of our history as well as the world history and who's responsible for the atrocities that have occurred since time immemorial.Should they though? Why? Does it really matter? What about being neither ashamed nor proud of where you're from? It's not like you had anything to do with the life you were born into. Nobody gets to choose who their blood relatives are. It's all arbitrary; what's to be proud of?
I should also tell you before we go any further with this conversation. I'm writing a book called " Stop Loving Your Enemies" A Cryptanalysis of how Christianity Destroyed the American Empire.Holocaust
That's great. System of a Down have a tune called "Cocaine Makes Me Feel Like I'm On This Song"" Drugs of History and a History of Drugs"
Oh yeah that's the thing I keep my Cuban cigars in so they don't go stale, lol.Holomodor
Yes, of course. By the end of WWI, no fewer than four European empires had fallen – the German Empire, the Ottoman Empire, the Russian Empire, and the Austrian Empire. Are you aware of the Bolshevists Revolution in 1917, Stalins Russia??
Hmmm, the Bluelightists mission statement is "Stay On Topic", I keep forgetting and straying way off…Did you know the Bolshevists mission statement was " Just Trust The Plan" ??
[Edited down by author to stay a bit more on-topic if possible.]
So this tread is supposed to be about community input for the drug icons. Apologies to everyone for digressing so much…
Side note: I wanna make a PocketDrugIcons app where it'll be an isometric view, maybe like a RPG and you get to pick and be one of the legends…
