Ok folks I know I just parted the Red Sea right there but I gotta find out who here shares the same DNA as I..

I enjoy bluegrass (I am from Kentucky)
Knows most of em *ralph stanley doc watson earl scruggs lester flatt"

Some newer bluegrassish sounds *the avett brothers.. Old crow medicine show*

And I love finger picking so therefore I love (jerry reid/ chet atkins mark knopfler)

So could someone with a country banjo picking acoustic bone in there body help me achieve a eargasom??? Thanks very much

First and most importantly, Yonder Mountain String Band!! Also the Hackensaw Boys, Railroad Earth, Greensky Bluegrass, Mountain Standard Time, Pert' Near Sandstone, and Head for the Hills should get you going.

I love great guitar, in most genres. Gary Lucas is one of my personal favorite finger-pickers... Just check this out, and maybe this, too.

I've also been listening to this guy from the Philippines I found on Youtube... He does a fair amount of finger-picking as well. Here's a great blues piece by him, and if you just watch his Youtube channel, you can find some awesome guitar work in many genres. He does a lot of close-up shots of his hands too, which is great.

I hope you enjoy these as much as I do!

Personally, I associate acoustic guitar fingerpicking with solo work and bluegrass with bands.

Here's one of my favorite fingerpicked songs, but don't forget to listen to the lyrics...

Townes Van Zandt - Tecumseh Valley

Townes could also fingerpick the shit outta the blues, but unfortunately you'll have to listen to his live albums because his studio albums and youtube don't have any of his blues fingerpicking songs :(
