Blowmonkeys backyard bushes '06

hes right you know

and sorry mr blowmonkey... some of us can't have our plants in the best sunnyest positions due to them beins somewhat illegal here

and unfortunately that big plant may be male

alternate branching at this time of year and the preflowers look male (dunno for sure, not being experienced and these being the first preflowers i ever have seen)

the preflowers have no hairs but that could be a matter of time

I know mr hedge. ;) But you can clear the surrounding plants/bushes or move it to a whole different spot where there is sun available, plants need at least 6-7 hours of direct sunlight, else it will turn out to be not much. Something to keep in mind for next year maybe.

Here's some great pictures to compare those pre-flowers with.

Meanwhile, My biggest plant has got a problem as well, looks like either a potassium deficiency or a ph problem, the roots have gotten to the surrounding soil which is white sand with I don't know what kind of crapola, same problem the plant last year had when it was standing in that same place. Anyways, who cares, I won't bother with the big girl anymore, she's a lost cause. Might give her some nutes every once in a while but that's it.
It does look like a potassium deficiency, but surely a cheap pH tester to make sure is worth it for a girl of that size, especially since it looks healthy otherwise. Either way, it looks quite fixable, but that's me.

the preflowers are quite a bit smaller than that you see so it could be either

hmm, one small plant i have, too small to do anything this year anyway, but i found bagseed and germed it, has soemthing wrong, what would caus leaves to fold along the midrib?
jsut fold down, as in properly, not just lax leaves, leaves that are shaped like that?

^You mean as if someone's come along and creased them? Are all the leaves like that? Are you sure there's no little animals that might be folding leaves with their webbing?

i checked, no leaf folder caterpillars or whtever

actually today for some reason they're mostly unfolded now... odd

It might be due to the heat or due to excessive water. I also had it happen with one plant this year, but those few leaves never changed back to normal.

Went to the garden centre today to buy some fish emulsion, a bunch of bags of potting soil and some foil to place in the growbox so I can just drop a bunch of soil in there instead of using pots.

Btw, measured the plant against the fence and it's 2.70 high and 1.50 wide. A monster. :D

when i have my own place i will have amazing plants of doom

cloning is my only failing, i can't get clones to take (ok i'v only tried 2)

i made some cloning gell yesterday, agar, rooting powder, nutes, sugar and mycorrhyzal fungi, i was going to try that on a plant (not cannabis) but as i was walking up the garden i dropped it, sigh, all over the lawn

i will make some more soon and try that out see if it works with other plants then move to cannabis

and yeah probably heat, and the soil was really quite damp (the humidity is making evaporation slow so its not drying out fast enough)

I'm not so great with clones either, but it also depends on what type of plant or what kinda strain you're cloning. For example, all the Orange Buds went great, but 2 different phenotypes from the purples didn't want to clone. Granted, I didn't really pay much attention to them and didn't exactly try out the best method of cloning (rooting in water & in soil), but the others did root and these didn't. Best method is still getting some rockwool, cloning solution, small cloning dome and one or two fluoro's.

yeah my OB clone i managed to kill in 3 hours...

i put it in a pot, with cloning poweder, in this semi compost stuff that works great for other cuttings (meant to be compost but its little more than shredded bark, but it holds water well whil ehaving lots of air spaces), put clingfilm, with holes in the top, over the pot to keep it humid enough

condensation on the clinglim, dipped, touched the top of the clone, went brown and skanky i the space of about 3 hours, removed clingfilm, shriveled died

Yesterday I decided it was time for some of the clones I made to go inside, the intense heat has died down now, so the temps inside won't soar to the 40 degrees anymore. Still a miserable 31 degrees though, which is still a bit on the high side. I'm contemplating to let the light go on at midnight instead of during the day, will probably make a difference..

The clones I've put in the growbox are the 5 OB clones I made, plus the small PP clone which is just filling the gap. The whole lot has had quite a bit of vegging time, so I've put them straight into flowering. The bigger ones have had slightly more than 1 month of veg, the smaller 2 OB's up front have had slightly less than 1 month and the PP clone has been vegging for let's say a small 2 and a half weeks or something now.

Hehe, I'm definitely not going to get lazy on my plants. I'm a stoner, but not that much of a stoner.

Made some pics again just now, 3 days ago I made some as well, but didn't put them on yet. So first the older pics, after that the pics from today.

First up the 2 OB's. One on the left has been put into a 50 litre pot a couple of days ago, actually had to put it in there a bit sooner because she's already starting to flower, the one on the right has been standing in the 30 litre pot for a bit longer then a week, began force flowering her 5 days ago, it went too slow for me.

Here's a nice little pic of the plant in the big container. Nice, but not really clear. Just can't seem to get a clear pic of it, she's almost hitting the 3 metres now. Hopefully I'll get a good pic of it during flowering. If not I'll just have to cut down that big girl in front of her.

Here's my biggest girl 3 days ago.

And here's the pics from today. First up the biggest plant again so you can compare it to the pic from 3 days ago. I had to tie her down again, she's been blown over pretty bad. She looked horrible a couple of hours ago, but is already recovering.

I just thought it would be nice to get a pic of her little trunk.. =D Put a 1 litre bottle of fish emulsion next to it to put things in perspective. The branches are as thick as the trunks of the OB's, pretty crazy.

Here's the topped PP. Also far above the 2 metres by now, haven't measured her, but I guess something like 2.30 - 2.40.

The toilet clone. Has been stretching quite a bit, probably because she's standing next to the fence and isn't getting enough sun for her liking. One of the few plants that still has that nice deep green colour, the full ground plants have far more trouble coping with the continuous rain over the last week.

Here's a pic from the OB in the 50 litre pot, started flowering 2 days ago or something. If you look really close you might be able to spot it.

And a pic from above. You can clearly see that the big girl in the middle is royally fucked up, but for her 9 others.

And some pics from the plants inside. It's nighttime for the plants here, also sprayed the leafs with some fish emulsion, so that's why they're all shiny and droopy on the pics.

First up is the PP. Second one a groupshot.

Such lovely plants! You must be taking very good care of them :) I wish they were legal in the US... I like them for decoration to be honest, not just for the buds :D

you're gonna have lots and lots of hard work ahead of you when harvest time comes around... its a labor of love though=D

beautiful trees blowmonkey... how the hell are you planning on drying them? you better have one big cellar...

Yeah, that's actually one of my big concerns. Cutting, drying and manicuring the plants. I'll just cut whatever I can and let it dry in my growbox, the rest is going to be removed of the fan and bigger leaves and will be manicured later on, after drying. Otherwise the job will take me a couple of weeks of cutting 24/7, which is madness.
