Blood pressure when doing stims

I just checked my blood pressure with a bought (cheap) BP monitor and it showed up a 155/100, which makes me feel uneasy. Been taking mephedrone. When sober my BP keeps itself low at around 100/65, but the use of stimuants seems to make it friggin' skyrocket to the moon.

Is this a normal increase? Dangerously high?

Yeah that would make me worry too. When I'm on stims my bp is sometimes fine, sometimes high like that. I know my bp goes up when I take it, I had to train myself to calm down when I take it. I also tend to stress myself out when I take stims, which makes it go high. Do you have chest pains? If its prescribed I'd say get it checked out just in case. Better safe than sorry

Thats mighty fast son...

And to think...I get worried at like 200 bpm lol

I am 30 * as concerned as you...

100 Beats per second?

Check yourself into a cemetery.

All joking aside, and assuming you meant minutes:

Deep-breathing is the only thing that comes to mind. That and time.

Is this drug-related? Anxiety? A little more info is needed.

Try a cool bath. Open up a nice book, and try to relax.

I dislike giving this advice because not everyone has access to them. However, if you have a benzodiazepine they are excellent at reducing anxiety and tachycardia induced by drug use.

Other than that, just laying down and watching a film should help take some of the strain off your heart and the film will help you relax (worrying about it is just going to keep it high).

100bpm is not really that much of a concern, some healthy people have resting heart rates around that number :)

I know how scary it can be, especially if you are having palpitations, but really, the level where you are at now is completely fine :). It will pass....

Yes, its drug related. I am idiot took alcohol+meth.
not sleep 3 days.
not eating 3 days
Just take one liter of tee(half tee and half sugar)
it can be cause if low level of sugar. And low blood pressure, pulse rate unstable, can be higher or lower

Yes... to scary. Only found half tablet of gravol - it can be used as hypnotic.
I mearhure it by android phone and when looking on screen I scared and it become higher.

You need to get off your phone, go get some food, and then get some rest. Worrying about your heart rate will only make it go higher as you apparently found out. So, quit worrying and go relax--The alcohol and meth should both be out of your system soon depending upon how long ago you took it. :)

whats your B.P

mine runs, top# high160s, bottom#high90s meds are lisinopril 5mg one aday, clonidine 0.1mg one aday. im 54, smoke 1 pack aday, whats yours? and are your meds working?

^ Won't be charging in with any information. I'm done with that.

My blood pressure typically is about 112/65. Had a minor freak out when I first started getting those readings as I thought it was much too low--My doctor hasn't told me it's dangerously low, so I figure it must be okay. I know it ran about 120/75 when I was doing large amounts of stimulants. I don't currently take any medications regularly.

^^ that's perfect actually. Mine is around 115/60-70 or so - the range for healthy blood pressure has decreased over the years; it's considered borderline hypertension if you're over 120/80 these days.

No medication for me, none ever if I can help it.

I dunno what mine is. The only time it gets checked is once a year at the gyno.
I know if it was high I would change my lifestyle instead of taking meds.

Some people do have high blood pressure that runs in the family, which wouldn't be changed much if at all through lifestyle/dietary changes. For others, it is due to changeable factors, but unfortunately many people just want the quick fix of a pill instead of having to make long-term changes (including dietary and lifestyle changes) to improve their symptoms.

^ Oh, lol.

I figured you understand about the genetic-side of HBP, but figured I'd throw the info out there in case someone else doesn't. Though most of the time the information I give falls upon deaf ears (well, eyes.) 8)

I have a Masters degree in Science and a strong hbp/heart disease family history. Doesn't make me an expert but I have common sense...most days.

I have never gotten an accurate reading. When visiting the doctor, I have always either been anxious or have just done hard cycling to get to the doctor's office, so my pulse has always been 15 to 20 bpm above resting when they've measured it. The BP measures have always been 140 to 160 over something. Well, there was one time I was really sleepy at the doctor's, and it was 115 over something. :P

ebola.
