Blind (...or my experience of "raver love")

I was there when you said to me
you make me feel like I'm on e
your smiling blue eyes sparkled brightly
blinding me.
I was there when you held me tight
took me over without a fight
covering my body, my heart, my mind, my sight
as clouds blocked out the sunlight.
I was there when you held my hand
flew me away to never never land
but you left me there alone on the sand
unlike I planned.
I was there when the sparkle vanished from your eyes
instead I searched in them for lies
yet believing still your alibis
so hard love tries.
I wasn't there when excuses you made
I was there when you always stayed
I wasn't there when we never talked
I was there when our eyes would lock.
I wasn't there when you made me feel small
I was there when you did call
I wasn't there when you hurt me most
I was there when you held me close.
I am here now and I am mine
no longer you possess my mind
the clouds roll back, the sunlight I find
I was there, but I was blind.

ohmigosh ohmigosh ohmigosh this IS me and my boyfriend. seriously. i now realized how BLINDED i am. thank you...i have never related so much to a poem...it really made me think, especially about what a shitty relationship i'm in. this is a great poem. i printed it out to keep
