Blacked Out On 5mg Xanax

Yesterday I had a bad drug relapse and ended up taking 5mg xanax over the course of the day. At first I took 2mg, wanted to "enhance by buzz," and before I knew it had taken 5mg, which was all I had. Today I feel absolutely horrible. Complete unrest in my mind and extremely agitated. I haven't taken xanax in a long time so I'm probably not used to it. Anyway just wanted to share this.
 
I haven’t taken benzos in a while and recently went a bit over the top with it. Ironically, my mom gave them to me to help with an upcoming flight, to knock me out because it’s 8 hours. Anyway, I had a decent amount of them and thought I would indulge in a bit extra one day. Previously I had taken 1mg and had a decent buzz because I’m not tolerant to it at the moment. Then I decided to take 2mg, and before I knew it, all 5mg were gone. At one point I went to the grocery store and got a beer, then bought a pair of sunglasses I don’t even remember. Then I passed out on the couch for a few hours. I woke up and saw the pair of sunglasses and thought “oh shit, I’ve blacked out.” This is a scary drug because you can do things and not remember anything whatsoever.
 
Yes, Alprazolam has a lot of strength.

You can cut a 1mg. in half also.


I would have made those into ten doses and taken them in a span of a week and a half. Or even longer. And it would be just as

potent but would have lasted longer even. You could have felt incredible for about two weeks.


I'm sorry all of your xan's got wasted. Mom should have just gave you a half.

Too bad she gave you five of them. Now they are gone. Oh well I guess we can't cry over the past all of the time. Spilled milk and all.


Yes, whoever invented xanax is a godsend to me. Something to worship.

I hope that you can feel better. Maybe do no drugs at all. lol. Just kidding.

Well hopefully you learned from this. Even if it was the gah hard way. Just be more careful next time, and you will be better.

Yes cool sunglasses lol. I am going through withdrawal and have a nasty headache and have been irritable

OMG fuck Xanax. I used to take it and got up to 9-10mg a dose. One day I got a bill from fire/rescue saying they'd transported me to the hospital. Don't even remember. Don't know how I got home. Neighbors later told me I'd collapsed in the street, and they'd called for an ambulance.

I will never touch that shit again.

More than likely you stole those sunglasses lol.

You would have blacked out on .5 mg if you'd just waited. 5mg is way too much for a person with no tolerance. Kinda a waste anything over 1mg.

My friends growing up would take that much or more and do dumb stuff. What will you do about your flight?
 
I've only properly blacked out a handful of times in my life and it's always been alcohol induced but it is scary having a black hole where hours of your life used to be.

Still, I always have a really hard time choosing sunglasses (I'm very particular) so the universe providing with a pair would be a comforting silver lining.

I have since taken it, it was very miserable because I was out of drugs, eight hours long

It's really an amazing drug. One of my favorite stories in the history of drugs is that when Upjohn was that during clinical trials with alprazolam, the effect was so apparent and so effective for the folks with panic disorder that they went out and bought Upjohn stock.

The withdrawals are far from amazing, and it can mess up your brain for a very long time if you take it for years.
 
Real benzodiazepines are bad enough, but the counterfeit ones are even more dangerous.
An acquaintance of mine had to be Narcaned back into consciousness after eating one "Xanax bar." Fentanyl strikes again.

It is effective and I appreciate the history too. For me there is either Valium or Xan's and nothing in between. :rolleyes:

I would say this lasted about two weeks maybe, not noticing anything now, now I’m just fighting nicotine dependence
