i don't seem to be able to lift it off

how do i break through the blackness
how do i let the light in again
it usually shines so brightly
so why did you block it out now?

i can't think why you'd visit me now
don't enshroud me with your shadow

the more i think about it
the more confused i am
you seem to strike for no reason
i seem to have no control
