black tar heroin tolerance & withdrawal

Hai thur.
I'm a black tar heroin addict from nashville, tennessee in the u.s. I've been doing it for 2 years, and lately I've come across a batch from a certain group of mexicans that I don't get sick off of. Ever since a few days after I started using it, I don't get dopesick. I do about a half gram a day, IV. I've done lots of tar from many other crews and gotten very nasty habits and tolerances, and have gotten so dopesick to the point that I have grand maul seizures. But in all my time I've never come across anything like this. If I run out of funds, I'm fine. No withdrawal whatsoever. But when I use I get high as a kite. Almost the best dope I've had.

Possible explanations?
I've been doing this batch for about 3 weeks now

Hmm. That is very strange in my opinion. How long do you go without it, that you feel no withdrawals? Are you sure it is real dope? Placebo effect can be quite strong. I met this girl in rehab who was there for crack and shooting dope every day. When we got tested at intake, she came back negative for heroin, only cocaine.. So whatever she was shooting was bunk, despite the fact that she was feeling 'dopesick' when she didn't have it, because in her mind that was what was supposed to happen.. Placebo can be a strong thing.

Don't take offense to this, I am totally serious and very curious about your situation. I have heard stories of people who managed to not get sick at all after lengthy methadone habit from the clinic. Maybe there are a few lucky people who can get away with not getting sick after stopping. The body and mind are strange and powerful things.

How long do you go without it when you run out of funds? Are we talking just a day or longer than a few days?

If you're only going a day or so and not feeling ill then I would bet that the batch of dope you're using has some longer-lasting alkaloid in it that normally isn't in found in heroin. The process to make black tar is very crude so I wouldn't be surprised.

If you're IV'ing half a gram regularly and going more than a few days without it and not getting sick though then that's really strange....

You cannot, no matter your habit, in anyway experience grand maul seizures from opiate withdrawal. GABA is responsible for muscle movement and tone so ONLY drugs that effect the GABA receptors may you be able to experience seizures/convulsions from withdrawal. Heroin does not effect GABA at all. So whatever you were experiencing may have felt like a seizure, but it was not. Unless of course you have a history of suffering seizures.
