"Black Aura, Golden Halo"
The golden halo of your hair,
your skin so fair.
To kiss the nape of your neck,
Do I dare?
The light of your smile,
Without compare.
The darkness of your souls' pain,
Now touches me, will I live again?
Our black aura's mingle,
Will I survive, be merely mamed?
The scent of your hair lingers in my nose,
You are gone, your fragrance sustains.
Your fresh, budding life reminds me
Of days long past, when I was free.
My eyes so full of hope, of dreams,
I can no longer see.
Every day, the pall of our similar despair
Murders me anew, yet I cannot flee.
Our lives as a mountain 100 miles high,
Will you reach your peak, before I fall or fly?
You climbing up, me climbing down, will we camp together a while,
or say hello and then goodbye?
Your strength overwhelms me,
Can you love me until I die?
The blue of your eyes now has me won,
life is a gift, yet a burden.
Sometimes light as air,
Why today, it weighs a ton?
Simply, and despite shared pain, I love you,
You will always be "The One".
I still have hope for our future,
and pain from my past.
I want you, I need you,
Do you believe it can last?
You kill me, yet inspire.
You bring out my best.
Two birds of a feather,
One day building a nest?
No answer is needed,
One day maybe "Yes".

I wrote this tonight, after studying one of my prior portraits of my love, and noticing that I gave her a black 'aura' around one side of her face - contrasting painfully with the golden halo of her beautiful hair. We have very similar black aura's, and it hurts a lot some times.
