heres the story, I was walking through my the front of my high school at around 11 pm and noticed alot of broken windows and there was a police officer looking at them, he questioned me, asked if I knew who had done it, who i was and where i was going. I told him and I was on my way. I met up with my friend in a near by park to smoke a joint. we smoked the joint in a fairly heavily wooded area on a trail. after we had finished the joint we saw 2 people and a dog running near us, we did not think it was the police. next thing I knew they had ran around the corner and the dog had charged at me and attacked my left leg and bit its jaws in extremely hard into the front left and back left of my calf for about 25 seconds before the officer was able to pull the dog off. my buddy was freaking out watching this all happen infront of him but it was the most painfull thing I have ever experienced, a highly trained attack rottweiler trying rip my leg apart. Anyways after that the stupid cops said we were being arrested for mischeif and posession of marijuana just because we admitted to smoking the joint. im not sure if the dog senced our scent because of the weed or because i walk through my high school several times a day or what . anyways i was being forced to walk on my leg to their cars and wait untill the abulence showed up to take me to the hospital. my bites were photographed. There were 2 major punctures with blood flowing out of both and lots of cuts, thank got I was wearing jeans if i had been wearing shorts It would have been worse. At the hospital I had gotten my bites cleaned and stitched up with 12 stitches 8 in one and 4 in the other. I was in handcuffs the whole time I was in the hospital and was being watched by a police officer who was a dick. Basicly I talked with the cop i had spoken with in the front of my school and he knew it wasn't me and my buddy who did it, if only he would have told the other cops with the dog that he had saw me, and it all would have been prevented. Anyways im basicly wondering if a police officer has the right to release an attack dog on some one who was only smoking a joint. Keeping in mind im a minor and I live in vancouver BC. I am very traumatized by this and it has left me with a very bad image of dogs now and I just think its very uncalled for and typical power tripping police bullshit but I want to follow with legal action, my parents are outraged and they want to press charges. lol any advice?
In my opinion we would not have been arrested if the dog hadn't bit me just because if a dog bites a person the cops better have a damn good reason for it so that's why they arrested us to make us look like the bad guys and blame all the windows on us to justify the reasoning for the dog bite
