Mental Health Binaural beats

I've had limited experience with binaural beats and mostly for naps during the day, some people swear by it, I need more time to make a call on my experience.
Aubrey Marcus is a big supporter of binaural beats, I think he has a podcast episode on this topic alone that might shed some light on your question.

I was tripping hard after doing Delta-Wave stimulating binaural beats. I felt like I was on (weak!) Mescaline again for even 15 minutes after the session.

Alpha & Beta Waves I do quite often. It is very relaxing, and you will actively feel your brain & then your entire body calming down. It's an interesting feeling.

I am/was a musical therapist, so I've been doing this with some of my patients, too :) Some absolutely love it, some can never get into it (the noises ARE weird.)
One even had big Tinitus problems after sessions, and it would make his head hurt: so be careful, and don't start with the heavy stuff (Gamma-Wave stimulating and beyond)

It's just placebo I tiered them
This might be empirical evidence for you, but I have dozens of cases where they helped a lot.
On an EEG scan you can even see how the brain waves adjust to the binaural beat(the imaginary beat from the interference between the two frequencies), synchronizing brain activity.
While in some people this doesn't do much, in others this can even trigger a release of DMT (and many other chemicals in the body)
It really depends on the brain, everyone is different. You probably tried them for depression - giving up after only a few sessions.
If you're severly depressed you're going to need multiple sessions for them to actively impact your depression. It's because depression is usually linked to your thyroid. Binaural beats TREAT the thyroid, but if your thyroid is rather fucked up and very low on hormone production, you're just not going to feel anything for many sessions.

My thyroid is working fine I have tested them, but I have hypersensitivity on dopamine 2 which is fucked up, I think you are right in term of giving up , because I gives up after 5, sessions.
Lithium? Brain-wave anomalies? They don't work for everyone.
Might be that your brain waves are harder/impossible to synchronize, who knows.
I'm not a neuro-biologist, sadly :(
I got REALLY strong bursts of DMT from gamma wave & above.
Haven't tested it often though (3 times)
