Please help?
Does anyone know which beta blocker has the LEAST of an affect on epinephrine/norepinephrine? I've been off an on Inderal (Propranolol) and find that it works really good for anxiety. But it also does some things that I really don't like such as make me deppressed and it decreases my appreciation for music (i think this is becuase of the norepinephrine inhibition). So are they're any beta blockers with little or no effect on Norepinephrine??
Thanks!

Blocking the effects of (nor)epinephrine is what β-blockers do.

Propranolol is known to cause this side-effect (moderate excercise should alleviate this).1 Depression is more common in lipophilic β-blockers than hydrophilic ones,2 so you could try switching to atenolol.3

Decreasing your dose is another option, I would think.

i was going to suggest atenolol as well as it's the beta blocker i take for HBP as well as for it's anxuilysis properties alongside with my diazepam.

the only problem I really had with propranolol is it greatly decreased my appreciation for music. Thats what bothered me the most. Music has always been everything to me and I couldn't have a medication that decreased my appreciation for it. But i'm guessing atenolol would do this much less..? any opinions or expierences on this?

because of the problem (unable to appreciate music) I described above I did some more research, specifically looking for the "weakest" beta blocker. I found some people saying Acebutolol and some saying Bisoprolol. Does anyone have any opinions/comments on this?
