I wonder if anyone here has read any trip guide books that are worthwhile. I read The Psychedelic Explorer's Guide (Fadiman) way back. Any other good ones?

“Go Ask Alice”, the ‘real diary’ of a 60s San Fran scallywag (ghostwritten by “Anonymous” lol)…
I read it when I was about 9 years old & it basically… yeah probably not the best bedtime story for a 9 year old, but man, was I ever ready for my first tab some short handful of years later
20 years later and I’m still not dead in a gutter, 10/10

I enjoyed Fadiman’s book, I thought it was quite practical.
Others might include Ralph Metzner’s “Allies for Awakening.” I don’t have it handy right now, so I can’t glance through it to see if it’s entirely worthy of a recommendation. But I believe it was at least useful, just not on the level of Fadiman’s.

Another would be The Secret Chief Revealed, by Myron Stolaroff. Although it is oriented more towards the therapeutic aspects and done in an interview-based fashion, there are a lot of useful nuggets of wisdom in there.

My books are all in storage currently, or I’d have other recommendations… Perhaps “Consciousness Medicine” by Bourzat?

Perhaps I’ll revisit this thread after I can actually visit my books, lol
