lol, OP you have just been friended

. This question essentially sums up my life's work. The best drug to ease the anxiety involved with social situations for those who are so prone. As I have already made clear, I am a "socially anxious" person, so my teenage years were spent trying to find the right drug, or cocktail.
Alcohol (Ethanol) - The most obvious choice. It is the accoutrements of both high school and college parties. Great for social anxiety, no doubt about that. But myself, and others have found, that when social anxiety is an issue, alcohol is not so clear cut an answer. For instance, I often will end up drinking way too much, trying to reach that level of comfort which may or not actually exist. This can lead to many unwanted consequences (pregnancies?), usually embarrassing in myriad ways.
Benzodiazepines - We all know that benzos are essentially alcohol in pill form (not a doctor, don't like my analogy...go fuck yourself). They also are the "anxiety-killer" in many ways. But, in reference to my first point, alcohol is usually available in these so called social situations (parties, let's be real people), which will in most cases be combined with some alcohol worsening the aforementioned socially embarrassing behavior. Not to mention legal trouble. For the responsible recreational drug user though, I would say 1-2mgs of a clonazepam or alprazolam type benzo would be your best bet to beat the social anxiety... maybe one or two beers on top, just for the social aspect of drinking.
Speed - My personal choice. Many say that speed (coke, amps, etc.) will ultimately only worsen anxiety, which is obviously true. But for the acute treatment of social anxiety, it can be the best. It helps you speak your mind more openly, which can be great for getting to know strangers (the worst part for me). And once that ice is broken it can be pretty smooth sailing from there.
In conclusion though, different people, different personalities. Some work better for some people than they do for others, of course. There are also different "social situations" which may warrant different, double quote here ""treatment"". There are ragers (50+) and somewhat unfamiliar "get togethers" (5-10ish). I find it easy to do the math and figure out which is better for which.
