Best shrooms to grow?

I'm also interested in the information you are asking, I've done my asking around, mushrooms are out of season and LSD is extremely rare, what is a fledgling psychonaught to do?
I have seen mushroom growing kits and apparently it is legal to buy spores online. I'm interested but they are naming different mushrooms or strains and I am unsure of the validity of their information.

Psilocybe Cubensis are the most popular species for in-home grows. As for the various strains, "B+" is known for growing well in a multitude of conditions and they are great for beginners.

ChecK the shroomery site. The consensus is that al psilocybin strains are equivalent in strength and effect. The only anomalies are cyanescens which grow on woodchip and aren't for newbie cultivators. B+ will be fine. Follow the PF tek and keep very sterile. Enjoy!

There are more Psilocybe types that are different besides cyanescens but the point was indeed that most Cubensis subtypes don't vary that much. They vary more in how fast or well they colonize and whether they produce a few big mushrooms or a lot of small ones. More important factors though are the way you grow them, so don't focus on what kind to grow right now.
Just choose a Cubensis type that is used most by beginners like B+ of PF Classic or basically any South-American originating strain.

And check The Shroomery. They are just way better equipped for the topic focus.

If you are a newb then stick to cubes until you get some experience under your belt. As far as cube strains are concerned it really doesn't matter much which one you pick. A cube is a cube. There are some variations in appearance and effect but they are all really about the same. The exception to that may be Penis Envy but they are difficult to get spore prints from and sometimes it isn't possible to keep clones going for whatever reason and spores can be kept for a long time. I know some people will disagree but most of the fancy names are just a bunch of hype. When you start from multi spore you will get shrooms of different sizes and potency from the spores. You need to clone the shrooms that you think are the best and then you will have consistently good shrooms. What is important is finding a good vendor that has fresh spore syringes that aren't diluted. Be warry of fly by night vendors because some of these people buy one good syringe from a legit vendor and then dilute it to make 10 syringes that they sell as their own. Good luck and if you are looking for more info on growing check out Mycotopia. You'll find a lot of very knowledgable people there.

Cubensis are definitely the most "newbie-friendly" to grow so I would (and did) start there. You don't need to go crazy when picking a cubensis substrain (as stated above, a cube is a cube; aside from possibly the Penis Envy strain) or substrate you will use. I'd reccomend PF Tek for your first time, as to get as much experience and knowledge out of actually going though the motions yourself. Once you've familiarized yourself then you can start picking specific substrains to grow (if that appeals to you) and working with different teks/substrates to maximize yield.

As far as the best to grow, I'd like to think having a nice outdoor garden of woodlovers would be optimal, but I need to refine my techniques a bit more before attempting that.

Also, the spores are most definitely legal but some vendors can be shady. Even when I was a noob at ordering such things offline and had no way to verify my source, the first one I found ended up to be legit so I wouldn't get too paranoid about being ripped off.
