as a serious response to this thread sometimes i just go with out music when things get too intense... i remember my first time taking a strong dose of lsd, i was listening to the grateful dead "anthem of the sun" expanded edition cd and after the original album was over, i think there was a live track and it was just kind of bizarre unorganized jamming. it really threw me off. i was smoking some really good weed my friend that loves pot was saving for when we got some tabs, and it was like the weed and acid hit at the same time, and it was really freaky. i was only freaked out for like a second though and then was just like totally confused going into different universes for hours after that.
this was in my cd changer while i was tripping one time and by the second track kicking in, i was having a "bad trip"... freaky stuff:
any kind of music has always been completely miserable to me while tripping on stuff like salvia.. definitely a no go for me. sucks doing stuff like that in the city cause a fire truck or whatever noises could be going on and completely throw a trip in a different direction. i remember one time i got back from a salvia trip and cats were like screaming outside my window. i was like "Wtf"
i feel like people are so different with their emotions. it might be good for a person to have their own specialized "trip play list" in case they need to chill out... but then people could get tripped out in a way where the music doesn't sound the same way and it doesn't really help them. i really don't know... a lot of people mostly just have really good times with music and tripping. freaks me out on higher doses though sometimes. i can really appreciate silence at times.
