Well, right now to make ends meet, I'm working 70-80 hours a week of back breaking labour. The pay is slightly above average for a labourer, but I don't know how much longer I can keep this up. I'm looking for suggestions on what some of you would take or have taken to cope with a job like mine.

I'm thinking Oxy(helps with the pain, gives me a little energy boost and it gives just enough euphoria to keep going) Negative-working a 16 hr day, I'm either going to waste a lot of money, and end up with an addiction I don't need).

The second drug I've been thinking of is meth. I figure a low oral dose of about 15-20 twice a day is not exactly healthy but it would get the job done. It would also be a cheaper option than pharml speed(Dexedrine, Adderall,Desoxyn) and besides 30 mg of Dexedrine didn't exactly impress me, it just felt like a dirtier version of a lot Ephedrine and a lot of caffeine just with a cleaner come down.

So, what would you do in my shoes given the circumstances(and I would appreciate it if you didn't advise to quit and find another job. Thanks)

Oh, I really didn't know where exactly to ask this question, so if a mod can move it to the appropriate board/section I would appreciate it.

Your best bet would be to live as healthy as you can. Diet is paramount. The right kind of exercise, too. Oh and sleep. Sleep is a big one.

Drugs aren't the answer here. Comedowns, lack of sleep etc. certainly won't help your work performance, neither will addiction.

meth will leave you with an addiction worse than oxy. it will also leave you in a lot more debt than oxy as you need more and more to keep your nervous system going. both of these drugs i don't recommend at all.

the choice of most laborers (well certainly in the case of a relative of mine when he worked 100 hours a week of trucking, sand shoveling and lifting heavy goods) was ephedrine. it gives you a boost, its cheap, and most importantly you can sleep well after taking it in moderation. without sleep your body won't recover in time and you will essentially burn out. turning to drugs will simply prolong the burnout effect but leave you with a much nastier bite when you realize they have stopped working. when i say much nastier, i mean a lot more injuries and possibly physical and mental addiction.

he also had a very vigorous diet of lots of protein, long acting carbohydrates and sugary drinks to keep his energy levels going through the day. i believe he was drinking around 5 litres of water a day as well, especially in the summer time when it was hot. look into more natural alternatives such as protein shakes and energy boosting drinks that you can continually sip on during the day if your diet is hard to intake.

i think that if natural supplements and possibly the boost from ephedrine can't help you go on - it would be wise to reconsider if you could possibly work fewer hours a day, not quit your job entirely.

If i was in that position i would prbably take 2 points of meth twice daily by either snorting or eating. I used to be a landscaping labourer, which pretty much means i carried around 50lbs of bricks from one spot to another al day every day, and looking back i wish i would have utilized that.

i don't think you should really be promoting meth use for physical labor. if your body cannot deal with the extremes of it, and you need meth in order to do so, you're putting yourself in a lot more danger.

firstly, it will raise your blood pressure and heart rate. when you are doing physical labor for long periods of time you already will have both elevated, and it can lead to a heart attack very quickly as your body simply cannot deal with the stress you're putting on it.
second, it will start with 2 points of meth twice daily. then it will turn into 4. then it will turn into 6. your body will become tolerant to the effects of the meth (if you haven't killed yourself in the process of using it already). the costs of maintaining your habit will also cut out of your paycheck.
third, it will disrupt and destroy your regular sleeping patterns to the point where sleep becomes useless and your body won't recover from what you've been doing during the day. you'll probably then have to invest in some more drugs to put you to sleep. even then, most will disrupt your sleeping patterns too.

brandasaur, you probably saved yourself from a hefty addiction and possibly death by not taking meth during that time period.

I probably should of mentioned off the start that I only have 6 more weeks at this job.I know pretty much everyone in my shoes has been thinking the same thing" I only have 6 weeks left, I would only be using these drugs as a tool to get me through to the end. Once the job is over, no more(of the particular) drugs"

It's actually worked before with Dexedrine(got me through working crazy hours on University break) but I was working 50 hrs a week not 80.It's that oral meth would be a hell of a lot cheaper.

I guess it comes down to self controll. Can I use these as a short work aid or not.

Anyway, thanks for your advise.

if you have 6 weeks left to go and you can manage as you are, then i don't advise using meth. try the techniques i mentioned earlier for a day and see if it helps.

have you ever used meth before?

dexedrine is a whole different kettle of fish compared to meth.

have you had problems in the past with addiction or abuse of substances too? sorry to ask these questions but it's something to take into consideration.

1. fat and protein
2. sleep
3. while doing the work, take in sugar and such every hour or half hour. have something sweet and water, or gatorade. that should keep your energy reserves up at least.

if you still need endurance, i wouldn't recommend stimulants like meth, at least in normal doses. that'd really wear your systems down.

possibly small amounts of caffeine, modafinil, very small amounts of more centrally (DA) acting stims, possibly.

when i used opiates daily, i was able to get into a good exercise routine. everybody knows the risks there, though, barely any need to put a disclaimer... it's an overkill way to motivate yourself.

^This. Diet and sleeping are the two most important things. Stimulants (caffeine, modafinil, mixed amphetamine salts (racemic amphetamine/Adderall) and Dexedrine could be used SPARINGLY. All stimulants are addictive (including caffeine) and will leave you in a much worse place in the long run. I used to use dextroamphetamine (Dexedrine) daily for shift-work. It's not sustainable. Methamphetamine is even harder on your body than regular amphetamine or dextroamphetamine.

I'm going to close this thread since we don't really do drug recommendations. I recommend checking out our Healthy Living forum for more information, but what qwe and others have said is spot on.

PM me if you have any questions.
