My blood pressure goes way up to unacceptable levels on stimulants, like 153/91. It’s crazy. So I either have to give them up completely and live life as a half asleep zombie or get on a good regime of BP meds.

There’s several classes of BP meds, I rarely see people discuss this but I did find some Reddit posts where ACE inhibitors worked for a few people.

I tried Guanfacine ER for months but it was very weak.. pointless.

Just wondering if anyone has experience?

No experience. But as Clonidine is always mentioned to be good.
Not for me though, i take ADHD meds so my pressure is regularly measured.
And its almost everytime on the bringe off black out levels, super low.
So for me out of the question, if i would take one.
I ll probably fainth and wake hours later some weird position.

The -ol kind, sotalol, propanolol are beta blockers think have negative interaction.
If no one answered this I look it up tomorow.

So many diff bloodpressure meds. You can make use of this.

Drug Interaction Report

3 potential interactions and/or warnings found for the following 2 drugs:

  • amphetamine / dextroamphetamine
  • clonidine

Filter by interaction and/or warning
Major (0)
Moderate (0)
Minor (0)
Food (3)
Therapeutic duplication (0)

Interactions between your drugs

No drug ⬌ drug interactions were found between the drugs in your list. However, this does not necessarily mean no drug interactions exist. Always consult your healthcare provider.

But on PubMed/ NCBI they have this on Clonidine amphetamine. Bad interaction and so we have conflicting sources of information.
You ll need personal experience and proffessional advise imo.

And what i mentioned about selective beta blockers blood pressure meds having a bad interaction. At worst the verdict is not conclusive yet.
Found this on NCBI, which debates bad interaction, but like mentioned even while on Amphetamines my blood pressure is to low.
So I am all but an expert in this field, just digging and posting. Discussion would be great.
As what i read on Bluelight was no beta blockers with stims. And Clonidine yes.

But this article, havent read it yet is debating it.

I take adderall and clonidine for this purpose. I have for years.
It really works wonders for me.

It seems as though this person has, but it always nice to check here. :)

Guanfacine is the only prescribed α2A-receptor agonist in my country. Or at least clonidine only comes in solution for injection..

I personally have that blood pressure normally every day, which is terrible so I am on 20 mg of lisinopril which is an ACE inhibitor like you were talking about, but I'm not sure how it would work with a stimulant versus being used as intended. I'd give it a thumbs up. Try 10mg first, everybody's different. When I get up in my morning my blood pressure is literally in that range though. So if it's not enough bump it to 20 with your doc. I'm not a doctor so I'm not saying it's gonna work but it sounds like a winner.

As others said, I also have clonidine as well, makes you BP drop fast, like here's 360 with two refills he was battling with me at first, he thought I was asking for klonopin lol

Are not adequate for lowering BP, even though they might.. Just not enough really, to be significant.

They are both contraindicated(adviced against) with other BP meds(i.e nitrates & vasodilators) though, due to BP potentially dropping too low.
Other studies say otherwise. I don't use stims , even caffeine. If I do they definitely help.

My Doctor thinks otherwise of this study. My blood pressure isn't high but it lowers 10 mgs Cialis quite a bit and 20 mgs a bit morre than id like sitting there but not uncomfortable.

Clonidine (Cataptres) is probably your best option. It ticks your boxes and it's fairly easy to access.

It still is not an acceptable situation for you to be hypertensive like this. Clonidine is some kind of antidote yes, but it's not a true solution .

You need to get checked out if you have chronic hypertension. It could be representative of a bigger underlying problem.

So why is it in some papers contra-indicated others ok. And same for selective beta-blockers.
Like i mentioned my pressure is ultra low, with or without stims. So non personal experience.

All i read on Bluelight seems not to be established medically as fact, its seems still in debate about if they combine well or are contradindicated.
Both Clonidine class and beta-blockers?

Looked at the years only and they where not outdated, but i am not knowledgeable to say if these research results are relevant or not.
