Best benzo for sustained muscle relaxing effect to prevent Tension headache.

Hi all, I have chronic tension headache which my neurologist thought was chronic migraine but after a try of migraine treatement, It is obvious that the pain is located not inside my head but on the muscles around it.

I am now using a rotation of Kratom, benzo (clonazepam and Zopiclone), cannabis, lyrica and not for long baclofen. But I am seeing my psych this week and was wondering what benzo was the best for sustained muscle relaxing properties so that I could use it more frequently and get cannabis out of my rotation so I can get my driver's liscence. It would be to switch zopiclone for any benzo that seems to fit best my condition.

So the basic question is which benzo is best as a preventive treatement for muscle tension headache and general muscle tension, with a duration of action that wouldnt require frequent dosage?
I have quite good results with clonazepam but it doesnt work for all day unless I split the dose in 2 and take it a 6 hours interval, which reduce the potency. I wouldnt use it for this purpose for more than one or 2 months.

I know alot theoretically about benzo but have experiance with only a few, like 3-4 and zopiclone (Z-drug).

Thank you for your time.

Your benzodiazepines that relax muscles are clonazepam, and diazepam. I would recommend clonazepam because of its long half life, with slightly less addictive properties, mainly rebound anxiety.
Threshold dose for tension headaches is between .5 and 1 milligram for non tolerant people.
Go easy on benzos though. As you see there's an entire forum based on benzodiazepine withdrawal and addiction.

Zopiclone is mostly a hypnotic so I would not use it for this purpose! (Also not a benzo)

Nitrazepam is by far the most muscle relaxing benzo I tried out of 15+ or so. Diazepam is an all-rounder and clonazepam is relatively anxiolytic / hypnotic. Then again when I am talking about muscle relaxant effect I guess it means skeletal muscles which may be heavy for your needs.

Getting your driver's licence and not having headaches is good and all, but just be aware of how difficult it is to rotate drugs like opioids and benzos for a problem that is continuous not to mention the reinforcing effects of rebound on your tension headaches.
How are those heavy drugs an improvement on having cannabis in your rotation? Be careful with what you're saddling yourself up for.

I would seriously get off that stuff and stick to prescriptions even if they seem like too little.

If I stick to my prescription I will be in constant pain past noon and sleep 4 hours a day everyday !
I know about the rebound thing but I do not seem to develop it, If I had the money I would go back to cannabis everyday but I can't vape anymore my throat do not take it which makes eating or tincture my only option and its cost too much for a daily use.

I also try to use the lowest dose efficient when I take any drugs (I dont want to get high, if I do I'll just eat shrooms or LSD) so that I can still be productive and get the lowest rebound, I also wait until my headache reach its peak to medicate it.

Mabe that is why I don't really build up a tolerance nor get rebound effect, I dont't use those for preventive treatement, just abortive treatement. I also don't plan on rotating drugs like that for long, in fact I hate it, its just the only way I have not to be in complete pain.

I am waiting for a doctor to listen to me but all they see is a 19 year old with a problem that they don't understand how to treat that can't tolerate most meds other than benzo which they are uncomfortable to use.

And I know zopiclone is not good for tension headache, it is simply the only thing my psych wanted to prescribe me for insomnia. I hate it , it makes me wake up in the middle of the night without being able to get back to sleep that is why I only use it in the rotation for tension headache as it works better for that than sleep and I am used to insomnia.

Also to get my driver's liscence I only need 1 month without cannaibs so it isnt so bad, I just need a little more benzo or any kind of treatement for tension headache, as I am used to deal with insomnia, I've had it since the moment I could form memories. Once the blood tests are done I won't have a problem, it is just that my psych when I was 17 told the insurance company that I vaped cannabis daily which makes me need to prove I stopped daily for at least 3 months and its been over 6 months, but as I use it once a week and the tests are random I can't do that.

Also, I know for sure that clonazepam is not an option ( I have unprescribed low amount which work well, I dose 1mg at like 12pm and 1mg at like 6pm and I don't even need to take anything the next day), but even if I ask for short term anxiety my psych won't prescribe the most potent ones, I think diazepam is an option tho, mabe nitrazepam too I will talk to my psych about it (I am not an anxious person but my situation is making me a little anxious plus I can't use physical activity to counter it since I am injured and it is getting me stuck to a chair or a couch, its been a month an a half like that) . Thanks for the tips.

So overall daily cannabis is not an option, sticking to scripts is a torture and cycle drugs won't work for long. And the last but not least, docs are uncomfortable treating me so I feel like the ball in a volleyball game between specialists and my personnal doc. That is why I am kind a Fucked! This week I see my psych and will ask for a short term pause that is why I started the post, to know which to ask to use during that month, if he agrees.

My ideal treatement for my headaches would be preventive treatement with anti-epileptic like Valproate or topiramate or carbamazepine, and benzo or fiornial for abortive treatement. But I don't see a single doctor that is, first ready to hear me (I am 19 so basically when I see a doc its like when a car goes to the mecanics) and second ready to treat it like that, all they want to do is get me on antidepressants, which I DO NOT TOLERATE, it makes me violent and impatient (which is REALLY not like me ).
