What is the best RC benzo for sleep? The only two I am aware of are etizolam and phenezapam. If there are more, let me know. If not, what is the best between these two.

ok i have tried neither but i have used most of the popular benzos, and found that mirtazapine was superior to all for sleep (at least for me). yeah it made me more tired the next day but dayum that shit gave me some of the nicest sleeps, and its non addictive, and u can pretty much just ask for it from ur doc

Redsweater, mirtazapine is an antidepressant, not a benzo. Which is probably why you think you can just ask for it from any doctor, it is not a controlled substance, unlike benzos.

To the OP, I have not tried any benzo derivatives, only actual benzos. But from your two options, I have read more positive things about etizolam, since it has anxiolytic properties as well as being a hypnotic.

Hey

Best benzo for sleep in my opinion is Nitrazapam, otherwise known as Mogadon. (spelling?). TOlerance and addiction builds quickly though. Temazepam is the most commonly prescribed for sleeping, but i find it just wears off too quick, short half life, and if you miss your sleep 'window' of about an hour, it wears off and you won't quite get to sleep in time.

BUT!!..... You should try Imovane (AKA Zopiclone). It is a great sleeper, less addictive/dependence inducing, less of a hangover. Its technically not benzo although is apparently chemically quite close. And interestingly it is fun recreationally too, although you will not remember a thing, blackout is guaranteed. Quite euphroic if you take about twice the recommended dose.

Hope that helps!

i've taken neither but phenazepam seems better suited, because of its longer half-life.

Neither is a great choice for sleep if you actually want restful sleep. If you're determined to take one, etizolam is by far the better choice as it interferes with deep sleep less and has a half-life more suited to sleep. Long half-lifes are not ideal for sleep as they last throughout the next day. 6-7 hours is the ideal half-life for a sleeping medication.

Improving your sleep hygeine is by far the best and most healthy way to improve your sleeping habits. If you must use a sleep aid, something like doxylamine is actually much more sedating, not addicting in the sense of benzos (though still addicting if used habitually), and available OTC in most areas.

Doxylamine is a far better sleep aid than any RC benzodiazepine.
I don't think this needs to stay open. Peg answered this. There's only 3 real RC benzos on the market anyway. Etizolam is the best because the other two (desmethyldiazepam, phenazpeam) are mediocre at best and have absurd half lives.
