Bernie Sanders

I'm familiar with Allende. How was Chile doing great under Allende? Pinochet did what needed to be done and peacefully stepped down in the end.

Allende had tons of growth and success from his policies until the capitalists started to make sure he would fail.

"Needed to be done" ? Hooking up peoples testicles to car batteries and torturing people is "what needed to be done" okay. He retired to a nice life after 18 years of dictatorship and never faced consequences for the atrocities he committed. Christ I've never seen anyone try to defend Pinochet, sickening.

depending on who you choose to believe, pinochet's government killed between 1000 and 5000 people and tortured between 10,000 and 50,000.

i used to just put treezy z's responses down to a difference of opinion. now i know i can safely ignore them altogether :)

alasdair

Not to mention Pinochets regime was funded by the CIA and corporations, maybe after almost 20 years he quietly stepped down because he saw what they did to Allende and didn't want to be next?

More voter suppression in Puerto Rico last night. They reduced the number of polling locations from over 2,000 in '08 to less than 500 this year, which caused hours-long lines to vote so most people didn't bother. Roughly 1/4th the amount of people that voted in' 08 voted last night.

Hillary Clinton sure is lucky to have sent millions of early ballots with her name filled out to people in all 50 states months ago. If I didn't know any better I'd say her campaign knew people were going to have a hard time voting.

I knew PR was going to be dirty before hand but right now if the DNC doesn't cut it out I'm going to vote for Trump. Just a couple months ago I thought you would have to be out of your mind to actually vote for Trump.

Seriously, "Pinochet did what needed to be done". Now THAT is spitting in the face of victims.

What a moron.
The only thing in wich contemporary fascists differ from the old ones, is a lack of affinity with uniforms, wich is a purely cosmetic thing. The only reason why most decen people don't like to use the word 'fascism', is because of the very same politically correct sentiment that rightwingers loathe so much: pity. Everyone knows that most of these rightwingers are illiterate white-trash inbreds, and most people feel some kind of misplaced pity for them. It's the very humane kind of pity you people loathe so much, that keeps the media and most of the public from calling you for what you realy are.

My,my,don't look now but your politically correct tolerance is showing.

There was also some shenanigans with the prisons I'm Puerto Rico. Apparently since felons can vote campaigns send people in to help them cast their ballots or whatever. Bernie's campaign filed a complaint saying that the PR Democratic Party was procrastinating/refusing to certify the Sanders people to allow them in the prisons, so Hillary's people had a day or two head start all to themselves.

And then a local news station there was reporting that whatever the big prisoner organization was(can't remember the name), kind of like a prisoner union, used death threats and intimidation to make sure all the prisoners voted for Hillary. Crazy shit.

Totally agreed, D. The use of uniform in the height of fascist power was definitely a hallmark, and I'd add public displays of military might and personality cults behind the main leader.

I'd have to say I don't have any misplaced pity for them. I have no pity or forgiving in our web age, where all known human information is within the reach of the most destitute, even homeless person.

"Ignorance is the ONLY sin." They are willfully ignorant, their desires, fears and greeds easily overpowering their natural propensity for compassion. Yes, they do loathe pity anyone, in some twisted Ayn Randian tradition.

It's sickening.

My,my,don't look now but your politically correct tolerance is showing.

What's wrong with being politically correct? What's wrong about accepting the differences of others rather than attack them? What's wrong with world where everyone cooperates instead of competes constantly with each other?

Media nonsense has made sociopaths of many our citizens.

I have friends of all races (actually I didn't know any cool white people until starting AA/NA outside of family.) I am friendly to gays but don't hang with any.

I am generally a friendly guy until someone starts stepping on my toes and I go from 0-100 real quick.

Yet I'm supposed to apologize for being a white man? I'm proud of being white. We enabled your stupid little anti free speech movement by creating Western civilization.

Seriously try your limp wristed PC shit in 90% of non-white countries.

Political correctness is a divide and conquer technique used by the elites to make us easier to control.
NOTHING to do with tolerance.

Workers had rights and trade unionists weren't lined up in football stadia and shot. Pinochet then escaped justice in the Uk by feigning dementia. You know nothing about nothing from what I see from your posts.

For starters,PC stifles dissent from corrupt, (mostly) Western govt. tyrants bent on imposing their will. It was not PC to be against the Iraq war or the Patriot Act and it is not PC to call Nobel Peace Prize winner Obama out on his obscene escalation of drone strikes on the Pakistan/Afghan border that continues to kill countless innocents. Then of course there is a little issue called Freedom of Speech that has all but disappeared thanks to the oh so tolerant left and their SJW's.Without open, honest dialogue from BOTH sides how can America resolve the race issue ?

BTW,there's nothing wrong with the world you describe.Just do me a favor, let me know when you find it.

Poor Bernie... I can't believe these reporters actually have jobs and are allowed to ask such stupid questions without facing consequences.

"What do you say to women that say staying in the race is sexist?"

*Bernie laughs* "Is that a serious question?"

Reporter comes back with an attitude "Yes that is a serious question"

and then she actually says "my point is she has more delegates, so it's sexist for you to stay in the race and try to stop her from winning" LMAO

How the fuck do people expect things to get done when you have these people trying push these false stories and trying so hard to make Bernie snap, or make him look sexist. These extreme feminists make me sick. Oh you don't support a woman.. You're a sexist. Is this the world we really live in now?

Don't talk absolute shit, really. Over a million people in my country marched against the Iraq war. The vast majority of these people were what you would call "PC SJW" (don't you ever get sick of using pathetic acronyms by the way? Is spelling whole words a trial for you?)

The issue is complicated by boom bust cycles and regional surplus and shortages, but I stand by what i said, the stem shortage is a myth. Here is an article by IEEE that explains it in more detail: http://spectrum.ieee.org/at-work/education/the-stem-crisis-is-a-myth

On the issue of posting the job advertisements and offering them to an American first, that is bogus. It is an old trick and common practice to preselect an H1B worker and cleverly word the advertisement so it precisely matches their CV. Leave it posted for the minimum amount of time; then hire the foreigner for peanuts.

Look at it another way. In the end, corporations profit immensely by cutting their labor costs by abusing the STEM program. When profit is involved, it is in their interest to lie about this issue. To get a broader perspective of this and nearly every other political issue, follow the money.

IBM, Intel, Semantec, Boeing, and mnay other STEM corporations continue to lay off 1000s. These same corporations have 'donated' millions to Bill Clinton's wife so of course she wants more H1B workers, and she will tell the country there is a shortage. Obama followed the same script.
After 10 years of graduating in a STEM field, 60% have left - laid off, project finished, etc.

There are definitely a lot of H1-B workers in the US, and some of them are probably taking jobs from Americans. However, I don't think that this is really driving down the salary of tech engineers. My impression is that there is actually a shortage of tech engineers and the Americans with the abilities that are sought after for the most part have very good jobs. I work in tech and the number of job postings right now looking for people with a computer science background is quite high.

My company has a good number of H1-B workers and part of the requirement for having them on staff is that you have to offer the job to Americans first. If an American comes in and is qualified and wants the job, they get it. In this way, it is actually quite a liability to keep a large number of H1-B workers on staff as the training you provide to them can easily vanish if a qualified American comes along and takes the job. There are certainly companies that operate by using H1-B workers to keep costs low, but given the liability that they impose, these companies are going to be companies that would struggle to exist by paying more for its engineers and that generally will employ some Americans in the course of their venture. This seems to me to have a net increase in the number of jobs for Americans, not a decrease.

I think the proper solution is to focus on better educating Americans to increase the supply of people educated in needed fields. Get some more students working with tech in high school so that the progression to CS and related fields in college is more fluid. Simply limiting the number of work visas is not logical.

Is it now common and accepted behaviour in mainstream media to call Sanders (and by extension his supporters) sexist for running againsts Bill Clinton's wife? That reporter obviously was. *

ps, that was a New York Times reporter and her name is Yamiche Alcindor. The conference took place in Emeryville.

On another note, this is a reason why there is so much oppositon to political correctness. It's pushed to the point of absurdity. It's a joke, yet NY Times reporter Yamiche Alcindor was dead serious when she asked the question with its implied insult.
