Bernie Sanders

I think you're getting at the form of mediocrity that is known as Jante's Law. It's a form of conformity and inefficiency that is believed to plague Scandanavian countries and US states like Minnesota where a lot of SCandanavians settled. Some schools are run this way too. Everyone is assigned to the same class, no matter what their ability or mental disability. The smart, focused students are punished along with the Ree-Tee or kid with ADD or fetal alcohol syndrone because that kid just couldn't shut up when the teacher was talking. As a result, everyone loses interest and motivation to work to the best of their ability.

America as a whole has a completely different view of hard work and excellence than this view of Scandanavian countries. In America, the exceptional are often rewarded and I don't think this is incompatible with the socialist policies SAnders talks about.
Socko so very on point. I think if everyone could work for the government for one year this would help people understand as well. With the comfort of the Scandinavian ten rules you lose drive, innovation, etc. People in America that make 32k a year are among the top 1% in the world. We have it good here and the answer to our problems isn't more entitlements paid for by the producers it is stopping our world jobs program we currently have running, shoring up our trade deficits, being fiscally responsible resulting in a strong Economy. When the economy is good and everyone has a job so so many of these other issues go by the wayside. Bernie sanders is selling a bill of goods he cannot deliver regardless of how I feel about them. And being virtually the last population not to be disarmed is so much more important than any other issue I can think of ATM. If the scotus goes radical we could see a lot of freedoms taken away. There is no first amendment without the second at least if you are being honest with yourself. Individuality, liberty, and freedom is not something I am willing to give up for some shitty government services and a seal of approval from a group made largely of lazy takers that read too many books but never aquired an applicable skill to benefit society other than to complain about the status quot. Neil d Tyson gets a pass though :)

Just a thought:

Students in which region would you guess performs better in fields like math, engineering, science or linguistics, granted the tests were the exact same?

Since when did designations such as liberal or conservative become derogatory. I gotta hear this one
there's what you say and there's how you say it. you throw it around - and try to tar people who aren't even liberal with it - like an insult. if you deny that, well, i'll just agree that you're full of bs.

Yeah darn them people that read books and are interested in arts, philosophy and creative endeavors totally useless. In the future everything will be mechanized and only the creme of the creme will rise to the top, not the 1% but the .000000001% you should be scared and libertarianism survival of the fittest bullshit will only get us there faster no matter how isolationist and racist and bigoted we become. The concept of a "job" is going to go away. The old culture and society is going to die, whether you like it or not. Either that or prepare to throw in jails, subjugate and/or kill all the poors before this turns into the world of "soylent green"

I cant help the way you perceive things. :\
before i posted my message, i wrote on a piece of paper what i thought your response would be. it said: "i can't help with the way you choose to look at things."

i'd say i got pretty close. it's incredibly poor form to be that predictable droppers.

and, of course, the funny thing is that you're right. but for all the wrong reasons :\

Anyone smashed you in the face again recently droppers?
I'm not suggesting you deserve it - just curious.

Getting back to Bernie here's an interesting article I just read: http://www.inquisitr.com/3109007/bernie-sanders-donald-trump-vp-pick/

Hypothesizing a Trump Presidency/Sander VP No way in hell this will ever happen, people that have known Bernie for decades are 100% sure he will support Hillary in the end when he loses, despite what his supporters think but this is really interesting to me in a kind of alternate universe way.

This is about the only way I would vote for Trump. I know it would only be symbolic the VP has less power than a senator, but god damn it would be satisfying to burn the establishment to the ground and still get Bernie in there in some form.

Do you think that even if Sanders could deliver, that it would be a good thing? Psychology needs to be taken into consideration. People tend not to appreciate free things as much as they appreciate things they had to work for. Take free college, for example. Would you work as hard in college if you knew you had a 'scholarship' no matter what? I had to maintain an A average in a difficult field to keep my academic scholarship. Most nights I stayed home and studied while my friends with rich parents and easy majors like business or psych got drunk every night. I would have gone out more often or just spent more time on hobbies and slid by with Cs if I didn't have an incentive.

I'd rather see college tuition return to the level it was in the 1960s when it could be paid with a summer job. That's kind of how it is now in France.

You are absolutely right. Making it more widely obtainable, rather than free, would challenge people to succeed rather than just push them through. It however, does not combat the problem of students leaving college with massive debt without any sort of viable job to pay down that debt. That is the only aspect that free would be good in.

Getting a passing grade through college does in fact take work regardless of the funding source or GPA. Does an A average really mean that much in the real world? I'm doing pretty good with my B average, especially considering that the skills I learned in college were only the baseline for learning the real skills that allow me to have a career. I'm also confident that I don't appreciate my degree any more because of the debt I went into to get it.

I think by "liberal" you meant "lib-tard", right?

Seriously, fuck off with the book-reading, you dirty liberal scum! We're trying to make America GREAT again and you're all out there reading books? Wtf has this world come to?

I'm with you, Droppers, my brother-in-arms. Fuck those "libtards" that fought (and sometimes died) for clean water and air, 8-hour workdays, abolition of child labor, fair pay, equal rights, public education, and every other basic human right in the face of big money and their Pinkerton attack-dogs.

Let's stockpile some guns and make veiled threats against our public government (and open-carry ONLY when counter-protesting at "lib-tard" events) until we have someone in the White House that can do the People's Will - undoing a century of human rights progress and deregulating the private sector to the point of reinstating Feudalism!

(Read in "Rebel Yell"/"Missourah Border Ruffian" voice): Whooooooohaaaaw!

Edit: Don't forget to display your Stars & Bars flag prominently so everyone knows what a Patriot (er...parrot[?]) you really are!

I just think many lazy gen x parents forgot to teach their children about socialism. 90% of the Bernie bro friends I have do not have a clue. Bernie does awesome against trump in the polls bc he hasn't been vetted once by the media. Like playing tennis without the net is how I sum up his poll numbers and if you think otherwise you are a partisan fool.

Hopefully mellenials teach their children with Venezuela as the current example and Cuba.

Yes, unlike the unofficial American state of Puerto Rico, which seems to be doing swimmingly.

People from across the globe travel to PR to attend their prestigious medical school while Cuba is nearing bankruptcy.

edit - Woops, had those two mixed up.
