Hey there,
I have severe GAD and SAD, not to mention OCD, but I also have adult ADHD.

This is my current drug regime:

I take daily:
- 6mg Clonazepman (3 x 2mg doses throughout the day)
- 600 mg Lyrica daily (2 x 300mg doses)
- 80 mg Propranolol (2 x 40mg) Only if needed
- 75mg Imipramine Hydrochloride (at night before bed)

This makes me drowsy and a bit slow and I am a lawyer so need to be clear and get rid of my ADHD symptoms. Can Ritilin or Adderral be taken with a regime like that mentioned here?

I have OCD, I take Anafrinil for it and I also take Vyvanse for my ADHD. As long as I take my OCD meds...I'm good.

Yeah they can, but you'll experience a partial negation of your other meds, depending on dosage. I don't mean to be rude, but frankly I'm surprised you can function as a lawyer on those doses of clonazepam (mostly) and lyrica.

^ What everyone was thinking yet nobody said, haha. I too am quite surprised with your career choice given your "diagnoses". Geez didn't your guidance counselor in high school tell you to pick a career based on your strengths and not your weaknesses?

But hey, if you can pull it off competently more power to ya.

I functioned fine on 8-10mg clonazepam daily at my professional job (4 years professional bachelors degree)

It all depends on how much experience you've had with benzo use, holding yourself together infront of clients, and your tolerance level.

This is at spinchick
I asked my pdoc about Anafrinil, after seeing your post. I explained I wanted to give it a go over the Imipramine because of its OCD reducing effects. He wants me to stick with Imipramine for another 4 weeks at a dosage of 150mg nightly. After three weeks of this regime, he said we will look at other options. Thanks for the heaps up of Anafrinil :)

What sort of condition do you have versd? I find I struggle a tad with conginitive slowing but can generally get by on 600mg Lyrica and sometimes up to 6mg Clonazepam.

Benzodiazepines don't usually produce cognitive deficits noticeable to the user.

How long did you hold that dose for?

Only held that dose for 2 months and self tapered almost completely off.

Ho-chih-min is correct, I didn't notice anything detrimental but no one can avoid the effects of such a high dose even though I had a significant tolerance. I am sure I was affected somehow but judging by the qualitative evidence of my work performance, things were fine.

Adderral and 2 mg of Klonopin every day works for me now. In 2007 though I was sent to rehab 5 times for taking an array of prescription meds. I was taking 15 mg of Xanax and honestly cannot remember how much Klonopin. The opiate, benzo withdraw lasted months. I started at .25 mg and my tolerance grew. I know I shouldn't be taking adderal or even 2 mg but I have to live. I couldn't sit in a classroom without sweating, and feeling closed in, chest tight, if it was not for Soma's I would have died. They gave me away, slurring my words. Luckily, I was one of the lucky ones while the rest of my friends died, 2 prison. Just be careful bc your tolerance will build quick.

As long as you take it exactly as prescribed, I don't see a problem. As others have said, anxiety and OCD can be aggravated by stimulants.

I've taken Anafranil for OCD and didn't notice much improvement (plus HUGE weight gain), but your mileage may vary. Adderall might actually help you keep the weight off if that's a problem for you. I'd definitely need an amphetamine if I were to go on a tricyclic antidepressant again.

Thanks for the responses to the question guys. Frankly, after 2 weeks of severe depression I'm at loss. Clonazepam is the only thing that has kept off the suicidal urges. I've had to quit my job so I can sort my shit out before trying to re-enter the workforce. Lyrica is just too expensive in Australia, despite working well for anxiety. If its used off-label its like $80 for 9-10 days use.
