Benzos to combat hypertension/fast heartbeat from "non-true stimulants" (K, DXM,2c-b)

I'm wondering whether or not certain benzodiazepines, that would have any combination of anxiolytic, muscle relaxant, and/or anti-convulsant properties, (ie. diazepam, clonazepam, lorazepam) could have therapeutic value in low doses in an effort to combat increased heart rate and blood pressure caused by drugs that arent necesarily "true" stimulants, but have stimulating properties, ie. DXM, Ketamine, LSD, 2c-b, etc, etc.

Due to a disease known as Pulmonary Hypertension, (high blood pressure in the lungs and pulmonary artery that cause an increased workload on the heart and enlarged heart muscle) which a very close friend of mine suffers from, she can not EVER use chemicals like coke, meth, speed, ritalin, ecstacy, b/c they have been told by their doctor when they were diagnosed that drugs like these could kill them instantly.
However, she has experimented with LSD and DXM numerous times, and Ketamine once, without any known or experienced complication. She is interested in experimenting with Ketamine more, as well as 2c-B which she has never tried, meanwhile both of these are known to cause increased heart rate and blood pressure (that isn't dangerous to normal people at recommended dosages.. and higher K doses actually slow the heart and lower blood pressure).
I'm not sure if she should even experiment with these substances, but she will do what she wants anway, so I'm trying to take a harm-reduction approach, and I'd like to think/hope that a maybe a low/therapeutic dose of a benzodiazepine with the properties I listed above might be able to help the heart rate and blood pressure effects, without taking away too much from the subjective psychedelic experience. I know that benzos are used to actually terminate some psychedelic experiences if they turned negative, so she is unsure about trying this. Any help?

20mgs of opiates lowers my pulse by 10 points. I take my bp every day due to a heart condition I recently developed. It lowers it every single time I take or am administered opiates of any kind (and I have taken everything from fentanyl to 5mg lortabs) as a matter of fact, just last night (Easter) I had to goto to the er because I develop Dressler's syndrome quite often.

When I first got there my heart rate was a steady 104. And that was after taking 3 mgs of Xanax before I had someone drive me to the ER. I was given 2mgs of dilaudid and my pulse dropped to around 90 and my BP was lowered, but I do not recall the numbers.

I can start keeping a journal if you need the data. Just PM me.<3

Thanks bunches, I appreciate the insight.. What is PM? I just joined BL yesterday, so I'm very new to this whole thing. I've come here to read info in the past, but just joined to start asking questions on my own. Thanks for any more help you can give.

I am extremely opiod tolerant. I have been on them since December, 2007. And, they still lower my pulse despite the fact that it takes ever increasing amounts to obtain a desireable level of comfort. I am 6'2, 225 lbs, so she may achieve the desired affects at a lower dosage. They tend to work quite quickly in lowering my pulse. I have ad them lower my pulse by as much as 25 beats.

I also am prescribed klonopin and Xanax. Both of these also lower my heart rate. I am on both drugs because I tend to build up a tolerance to my meds, so I switch up the two throughout the month.

Now, if I am seeking the occasional buzz, I take 40mgs of lortabs or percosets and I have actually lowered my pulse by more than 30bpm. Going from around 100 down to 70, all from opiates alone.

My understanding of klonopin is that the drug was originally marketed as an anti siezure medication.

I hope this helps out.

I am glad to help. Perhaps we can both learn from sharig information.

^^Bruce Lee is the badest man to ever live. He could have taken out any of these MMA dudes in minutes.

And, no I have no idea about atenolol. Is that a beta blocker?
