Benzos & Booze - bad for your stomach?

I've looked around and haven't been able to find an answer to this question; is it irritating for your stomach to mix benzos or sleeping pills with booze on a frequent basis (ie more than once a week)? One of my friends claims that his ulcers were from pills/booze combinations, but I know several other benzo fiends who haven't had any problems at all. What gives?

If he did indeed get a stomach ulcer from drinking and pillpopping (unlikely because ulcers are actually caused by a bacteria, and only aggrivated by other things, such as food, drink, and stress), the drinking is what really caused it. Adding pills to the mix does not irritate the stomach any more than the alcohol already is.

Its bad on your liver, not your stomach.
Please correct me if I'm wrong, but its my understanding that it has to do with certain enzymes involved in (proccessing, dissolving, somethin) the pills and alcohol.
Thats about as in depth as I know...i know others know in more detail...

The alcohol might pose something of a risk but the benzos are not likely to actually add to it...
