I imagine this has probably been discussed before but I find searching for posts involving benzofurans complicated as the naming is always complex.

Has anyone heard or come across the cathinone derivative of the benzofuran analogue of MDMA that simulates MDMA rather well... [The one in nichols paper but cathinone version instead, I.e the benzofuran methylone]

Of course it would easily be considered as an analogue in the US etc but what about the UK?

Certain irresponsible party pill retailers have started selling tablets claiming not to be methylone, ethylone - wonder if they could be using benzofurylone based ingredients.

As the benzofuran simulated MDMA rather well - good chance benzofurylone may well simulate methylone [?]

Does the O go to the 3 or 4 position? I thought it was more active at the 3 position?

oh in which case the 3 position, whichever the one in which nichols found the non-cathinone benzofuran analogue of MDMA most active.

^I'm not saying I'm right, I just seem to remember talk of 3 methoxy amphetamine being more potent & safer than it's 4 counterpart. Isn't it something to do with the orientation of the lone-pair?

Well I am not talking about stright 4-methoxy or 3-methoxy - methcathinone, I mean methylone minus one oxygen (replaced with a methylene group).

In either of the positions would be interesting and one would probably most likely be similar to methylone.

Another interesting one might be bk-N-methyl-IAP => Wouldn't be surprised if that worked more like an anti-depressant (seeing as cathinones such as bupropion show more anti-depressant like features and IAP itself only causes release on 5-HT. Might be very interesting compound.

Actually wouldn't be surprised if the benzofuran beta ketone analogue of MDMA is in Shulgins new book. It would seems quite a logical one.

I would imagine it also contains the normal amphetamine benzofuran MDMA analogue.

Speculation but it would seem quite a logical one to include.

It'll be finished when it's done, no sooner I suspect. PiHKAL contained about 200 compounds, TiHKAL around 400 (including the appendix), and this is going to contain around 2000.
