The solubility of a substance is basically how well it dissolves in water.
Butter is not soluble in water.
Salt is soluble in water.
Most benzos do not possess a chemical structure that provides solubility in water. A select few (midazolam, loprazolam) dissolve in water. There's really no difference if you're taking them in pill form. If you're trying to IV, well, that's a different story.

or consider something like modafinil, that's insoluble in virtually everything.
I hate stimulants. I have bad anxiety issues, stimulants only amplifies it. I take benzos for medical reasons, not recreation.
Thanks for the input though,

1. modafinil isn't recreational, 2. I know better than to believe that.
but most of all, what it does is irrelevant. It's that it's insoluble in most everything, but is still plenty active (25-200mg doses even). Solubility is irrelevant for activity. What something is soluble in can have implications for metabolism and such, but if it's active, it'll be active regardless of solubility (anyone have an example disproving that statement? I can't think of any)

1. I never Implied modafinil was recreational
2. I never tried to convince you otherwise
Ummm my topic of the thread is: Benzodiazepine Raw Powder Solubility
What modafinil is and does is irrelevant, its irrelevant to the specific topic.
I understand your point, however wungchow already explained it better and directly to the topic.
Thanks for the info though, I'll have my secretary add it to the archives.

If that is the case, then you should have no problem legally getting an adequate amount of professionally-produced pills ready for swallowing (or even putting under the tongue). Why mess with confusing and very illegal powders?

No flaming pal, but that's not true.

Google for the (L)ADME-rule (sometimes with L, sometimes without). Solubility determines to a major degree the "A" in this abbreviation. It IS relevant for activity.

I don't get enough to subside my anxiety. Agoraphobia is a serious condition. it was like pulling teeth to get 2mg of Clonazepam. I would have to see multiple doctors to get an adequate amount. I pretty sure thats illegal. Having the fear of leaving your house. Seeing one doctor is stressful enough. I tried for years to get the right doctor/script. I've been on almost all of the SSI's (Paxil,Zoloft,Lexapro ect.)one time or another. I'm convinced their all just plecebos. I found what works for me and I'm a much happier person because of it. So its worth the risk for me.

I would rather recommend a sophisticated psycho-therapy, and I'm not talking about a plain medicamentous treatment. Pharmaceuticals are limited in their ability to help people in the long term with such severe psychological problems. Rather the contrary: They tend to worsen it with time!

You will (or have already) build up a considerable tolerance if you take benzos this often, which will increase the side-effects due the need for higher or more frequent doses. This increases the anxiety-problem, thus increasing the need for more benzos, while making it harder to get them. Vicious circle AHOY!
Seek for alternatives. SOON!

^ I agree.
Having had a medical-dependence on benzos for a number of years (and finally quitting early this year and feeling much better), I can tell you that benzos when taken chronically do the opposite of what you're taking them for. They increase anxiety. For two years during my addiction, I can count the number of times I actually got off my bed, let alone left the room, let alone left the house. It was that bad.
Taken sparingly though, yes benzos are a god-send, one of the best inventions to come out of humanity.

Yeah, I think the board members who have suffered (and it is indeed suffering) or are still affected by this, can tell you the story far better than me. Thx for chiming in Jamshyd!

I truly appreaciate your (and Murphy's) concern.
But I have it under control
(Famous last words
)
I'm not sure why really, but I've been taking decent amounts for years, off and on. I never have withdraws, the anxiety comes back. I'll go for months taking more than the average user. One reason or another I just stop. No problems what so ever. I wish I could say the same about beer, however I can't drink,or I have to be very careful when I do. But i honestly know what I'm doing and thats not the drugs talking.

Anyway, if you like to solve the anxiety-problem in the long term, benzos are not the answer. No discussion at this point!

Please note that if the substances are present as salt (like the mentioned flurazepam-HCl), solubility in water/MeoH is normally drastically increased, while it is decreased for DCM. Exceptions are possible.
Yes I was thinking, couldn't some of these less soluble benzos just be made into hydrochlorides? There is a relatively easy method to do so with base cocaine as has been posted and reposted on bluelight, involving muriatic acid that can be found in hardware stores if I'm not mistaken, could the same be done to make some of these benzos water soluble?

In theory: Yes, should be possible. I haven't read the procedure here at the board and won't comment on it, as this could be considered as synth-talk.
Only thing I have to point out is that some benzos undergo hydrolysis when exposed too long to acidic pH (cleavage of amide and imine are possible). So, this could lower yield when done improperly...
