I don't know if this is the right place to put this so feel free to move it.

Basically, I just want to discuss an event that happened about two weeks. I went to get ciggerettes and on the way home, I noticed my friends family smoking outside a function kinda thing. It was their fathers 60th. My lifelong friend died from a methadone overdose (first time taking opiates and he consumed 60mls because the police pulled him over) I've had two friends die from consuming the evidence, but I was really high when I seen this people and I demanded they tell me why he died. I said all kinds of things, even though I knew how he died (after years of gleeming information, I finally got the truth)

He was like my brother, we grew up together our entire lives. All I can remember is being told to "just go!" and me saying all kinds of abuse. I completely lost my inhibition, I'm a good lad usually.

Basically. I was stoned out of my nut and I said all kinds of things to my dead friends family on their fathers 60th birthday. I can't remember over three quarters.

Edit: Sorry for my poor grammar and punctuation.
I just wanted to get this of my chest really and maybe discuss it if anyone wants too. Thanks.

Dude we have all done some really stupid shit when we were messed up...this is exactly why my boyfriend used to try to prevent me from taking benzos or ambien. Especially since we were always on opiates as well. Don't beat yourself up over it to much, like l said...we have all been there.

I am so sorry for your loss. Grief and death is part of life - everyone heals differently and no matter what anyone says it takes time.

Have your friends discussed some of the things you said? From what you remember, was it heartfelt or did it hurt people? Benzodiazepines and z-drugs are notorious for memory loss. I'm glad I can't remember what happens sometimes because I do stupid stuff.

If what you said was not hurtful, don't stress about it too much. If it was hurtful, then it will need to be addressed directly if you want to make amends. Sincere apologies and proactive corrective steps can go further than you think <3

His family doesn't live in my neighbourhood anymore. I'm just not gonna do anything for a while and then when I get a chance i'll say sorry I was just high and didn't know what I was say.

Sickofthisshiz: Yeah, I know how your bf feels lol. I came home one day and my gf was laying upside down on the stairs lol, ever since I keep the benzo's hiding from her lol!

If this was your best friend's family, I think that you should contact one of them that you are closest to and let them know that you are sorry for anything you did or said that was inappropriate. Let them know that you have no memory of what you said because you were high, but also let them know that you would feel terrible if you said anything to hurt them. In other words, clear the air, take responsibility for any harm you may have caused and then try to just let it go.
