So, I am on suboxone. Usually I use benzo's during the month but only bi-weekly, one week on one week off. Well, my doctor ended up writng me a pre-dated script so, two months before my drug test. Automattically I go get some Xanax or Klonopin and some Marijuana and was going to do the bi-weekly thing. Well that was on the 5th of Febuary and its the 3rd now, so 26 days straight on either of the two(had some valium tossed in for a few days here and there also). I've been taking 3-6mg of either Klonopin or xanax pretty much daily since the 5th... had two days on gabapentin when I didn't have any benzo's then one day completely withouth benzos and felt fine but had some valium(like 40mg) and I know how long the half is. What should I expect for withdrawls? I actually DO HAVE anxiety but never asked my doctor for it because I had listed it as a drug I would take sometimes...and don't know if I want a script because I have a feeling I would get one then also buy off the street and take ridiculous doses like 8mg or something everyday. I don't know if this belongs here but I feel like I'm well on the way to a poly-drug addiction thats not worth it,plus I don't wanna fail my UA and go back to shooting crap... So in a nutshell 3-6 mg a couple days without of Klonopin and Xanax for 26 days. Maybe like three days without..

If your binge went for 26 days I imagine you would experience some withdrawals because of the large doses you've been taking. But what's the point of being on suboxone if you're going wild with benzos? You should slow down because you're essentially trading one addiction for another.

Here is some really good information on benzos in case you haven't had a chance to read through it yet BENZODIAZEPINES: HOW THEY WORK AND HOW TO WITHDRAW (aka The Ashton Manual)

6mg of xannax is a healthy dose and I would think you are going to get some withdraws for sure. How strong they will be is hard to tell. Usually the onset of tolerance with benzos is quite slow so you have that going for you. But the fact that you were taking 6 mg of xanax a day is something that needs to be considered. Here is some information that will give you a little heads up if you continue to take benzos on a daily basis. I think the best way to take them to avoid physical dependence is one day out of three or four.

Benzodiazepine withdrawal syndrome Wiki

Congratulations on getting off the dope and needle. Please consider altering the time frame that you take the benzos as many consider getting off them as bad or worse than getting off the opiates.

I ended up kicking, methadone, oxy, and xanax at the same time, it was really not fun and lasted for months. I only mention this cause if you are not prescribed the benzos and drop a dirty cup then, unfortunately, there is the chance that you could get cut off from your maintenance and find yourself in a similar kick. So if you are planing on continuing to medicate with the benzos I would consider seeing a doctor and making it laget and then spacing out your doses so that physical dependence does not occur.

Very best wishes with this.

Be honest with your bupe dr and tell him about it and say you're addicted and experience wds when you dont take them, ask if he can do a diazepam taper with you. He should basically be obligated to.

I quit bupe, clonazepam, jwh-250, phenazepam and olanzapine all at once... im still recovering, its been a year ago this month lol..

EDIT: Also take a look at that Ashton Manual posted above by neversickanymore as in regards to my suggestion to a diazepam taper.

Well I've been freaking out about it but was thinking about just taking the last 4 and taking low doses of Gabapentin for like a week, Like 600mg to 1000 mg a day. Start off at a thousand, two days later take 800mg then go down every two days. And since I've been taking Klonopin wait a day or two before I start taking the Gaba because of the longer half-life. And yes I know I should stop going buckwild with the benzos, usually never do, it was just because she wrote me a Pre-dated prescription and the addict in me...But would the Gabapentin thing work?

if it's just been one month of daily use, you should be able to go without them for a few days... or, go to the doc, get a script, that way if you test positive or benzo's (for your driver's liscence, this is what it's about right?)you have a "justification"

what nsa said but be careful so you don't lose your suboxone over this.

Ya, I have a feeling I'm gonna fail that test no matter what because of the valium, and doctors don't write that here, just klonopin and xanax. I have Gabapentin and that all I plan to take if I start to feel like something bads going to happen. Plus, with my doctor I'm hoping since this would be my first diry since I've been there I will be let go with a warning. She wrote me a script for two months so I'm also going to tell her I need to still come on a monthly basis, and talk about my anxiety problems. I have Gabapentin and valium in case things get bad so, glad I usually take half of what I'm prescribed most of the time just in case I get the boot.=(
