Benzo withdrawal-I have access to paxil, zoloft, celexa

Will these medications help with withdrawal and sleeping, I plan on tapering my benzos and possibly using these medications to help with the withdrawal, when do i need to start them and will they help?
 
None of those will help withdrawl. I seriously doubt they'll even aid in sleep. Take the advice given in your other thread, as fairnymph is correct. There's not much else that can be done on your own. Withdrawl sucks, eh?

Did you really need to start a new thread for this. You basically asked this question in your other post. Just edit your question and add it on...
 
Umm they will help with the withdrawal as SSRI's potentiate benzos so he can taper down his usage easier. Also after 2 or so weeks the SSRI will begin to be taking effect and sleep and anxiety will not be such a problem..not gone completely but lower. I'd say it would be beneficial to go on one of these medications and slowly taper down your benzo usage. Don't try and quit cold turkey as the withdrawal will be very unpleasant.
 
^^I disagree - sure some SSRI's may slow the metabolism of some benzo's - for example, fluoxetine may cause increased blood levels of alprazolam or diazepam. But this is not going to stop benzo withdrawl.
 
Yeah I know its not gonna stop withdrawal but it does more good than it does bad and may prove to be beneficial in this persons case. He doesn't really have anything to loose by using an SSRI..
 
i dont see how putting someone on an SSRI can be construed as a good thing by any stretch of the imagination.

The SSRIs are not going to significantly help you, and furthermore, they are strong drugs with side effects (and withdrawal) of their own...just deal with the withdrawal as gradually as you can, as I explained to you in the other thread.
