I am currently taking Adderall 20 mg IR but am going to try to get a benzo presribed with them to take at night to help with the anxiety, jitteriness, and overal blah of a comedown and am looking for one with a similar profile to Valium, one that would be easy to taper off of and quit when the medications are no longer needed. Valium would be my first option, but it seems to be hard to obtain for most so I need a second option going in.

I personally use Seroquel after amphetamines, 50-100 mg will make you sleep like a baby, and cancel out the remaining amphetamine(Adderall)

Oxazepam and temazepam would both be suitable as there both metabolites of valium and similar in therapeutic affects, although temazepam is a better hypnotic and so more effective then oxazepam for sleep. Having said that its really subjective when you discuss benzos as everyone has their own preferences. Also they arent suitable for frequent use as the tolerence kicks in super quick for most people and dependence isnt far behind. if you have to use something daily could to use a anti-histamine sometimes. Promethazine is quite popular and if thats not strong enough then doxylamine has a real kick to it. The sedating effect of these work in the same way as seroquel except that seroquel is alot stronger. I personally dont think its a great idea to use seroquel for sleep as it an anti-psychotic foremost so while it will knock you out it carries the risk of some nasty long-term side-effects. If you could tell us what is available to you then we might be able to give more specific advice.

Seroquel only becomes antipsychotic at doses exceeding the 100mg range. Anything below opposes little or no danger.

While I can agree thats anti-psy properties dont really become noticeable at doses below 100mg, that doesnt mean theres little to no danger in using it. We dont know what the long term effects are of using it in healthy individuals as a sleep-aid. Infact the company that had the original licence for seroquel wouldnt endorse this indication for quietapine. im not saying that all people will have problems with this med or rhats its completely unsafe. Just that in 99% if insomnia cases its massive overkill and over-treating a medical complaint is as risky as not treating it. Their are many avenues of treatment that the OP could explore before trying a powerful medication with unsure long-term side effects.
