WHOOAAAA SLOW DOWN!! Before you take a break, it seems at that length of time and at those levels of dosage you probably have a physical benzodiazepine dependence which if you stop abruptly you risk SEVERE withdrawals that could lead to seizures and possibly death!!! IMO (and I'm not a DR or anything of the sort, just a very educated drug user) your DR having you on so much diazepine instead of switching you to a longer lasting benzo or an anti-depressant that also acts as an anti-anxiety agent (I have bad social anxiety and had anxiety attacks before I went to sleep for some odd reason then I started taking an SSRI - citalopram/celexa - and I have had maybe 2 anxiety attacks in the past year) is a common malpractice (just my opinion), so many Doctors dish out benzodiazepines instead of more beneficial drugs, but I digress.
TALK TO YOUR DOCTOR ABOUT THIS CONCERN BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING, PLEASE!! Your life could depend on it!!! Your Doc could put you on a taper schedule to get you off your benzos and then you can take your time off to get your tolerance down or you can ask to switch to a strong/longer lasting benzo... first one that comes to mine is Klonopin (clonazapam) but there are a myriad amount of benzos your Doc could switch you to that I am sure could help you out.
But most importantly DO NOT STOP LONG BENZO USAGE ABRUPTLY!!!
