Hi,

Benzos have really disrupted my life and wrecked my nervous system. I'm coming off 3 cold turkey attempts in the last 4 months and have failed on all of them. Finnally found a doctor who will help me with a valium taper. Any advice is appreciated.

I was only taking around 8 mg ativan tops at my worst and have only been taking them for about 1.5 years but I have nearly every withdrawal symptom there is.

1. Horrible ringing in my head (tinnitus). This is so bad my entire head vibrates. I can feel it when I touch my teeth together.
2. High blood pressure
3. Neuropathy
4. Stabbing pains
5. Rigid muscles (extremely painful)
6. Pain all over
7. Hypersensitive nervous system

Planning on trying a liquid microtaper. Any advice is appreciated.

Hi ive been on diazepam for 25 years and ive only just started to come down it was always 40mg to 20mg then i refused to go any lower but i tried 2mg a month on doctors orders and its worked im now on 4 mg maybe try this but if you can stay on a low dose for a few months as i here zero mg is tough so i believe the hardest part is coming off them altogether this may help

Sorry i forgot to mention and if you have a doctor he will tell you do not try to cold turkey benzos its suicide do it slowly 2mg a month and even that is weird i sometimes stayed on like 6 for 2 months your lucky not to have seizures or fits . Good luck its hard
