I'm a proponent for the legalization of marijuana but I have to join the majority in agreeing that it was for the best that they didn't legalize marijuana with Issue 3. I've read at least 3 articles this morning like this one about how Issue 3 wasn't the best way to legalize. Anything that puts the money into the hands of the few reeks so I'm glad that Ohio is remaining patient and keeping their standards high.

It was my understanding that the state could, if it so chose, issue new licenses to grow/produce after a 4 year period (by which time significant branding would likely have occurred).

However, in view of the fact that personal cultivation would have been allowed, with the acquisition of a license, I am disappointed in the outcome,

Not impressed with Kascih's behaviour.

This sucks to hear that Ohio isn't taking action like a lot of the other states in the U.S. What makes your views on marijuana the way they are (just out of curiosity)?

I might have explained that badly, I want Ohio to have legal access to marijuana...just not under the gun of an oligopoly. Other states have legalized without that. I know it's impossible to divorce a major industry from greed but I'd like the powers-that-be to at least try to hide their salivating fangs. I am skeptical about passing a constitutional amendment that allows for an oligopoly and doubt that it would be so easy to iron it out down the road. Ohioans are drawing a line in the sand and the next time marijuana turns up on the ballot, it won't have that oligopoly attached to it.
