I was wondering is there is negative mental and physical effects of getting stoned everyday? I choose to use cannabis everyday because there is one state I dislike the most, and its being sober. I can't really use any other drugs because of the harm that comes from addiction and tolerance. Since nobody has never died from this drug, and the negative effects are not so bad so what the big harm?

I eat my cannabis because it last longer, and don't have to redose. So I'm not doing any harm to my lungs that I would do by smoking.

Cannabis hasn't been proven to harm ur lungs significantly if it's smoked straight , I find the only mental harm can be slight paranoia occasionally , worse sleep without it and general laziness , but that's just me , it brings a lot more good than bad for me so I smoke every day too , and it's not very harmful at all , the opposite in some ways .

Being stoned all the time is great at first, give it a couple months, then a year or two and so on.

It'll start getting pretty old pretty quick, and trust me being sober sucks even more when your used to ingesting more than a couple grams a day.

getting stoned every day - fine, as long as you get your shit done.

staying stoned all the time - very likely to make you both bored and boring.

why smoke that much anyway? imo it just lets your tolerance skyrocket and gives more side-effects (eg extreme laziness, tiredness, paranoia,...) than desired effects. i use weed almost daily, and if i only use my vape, i can make a gram (high quality though) last a couple of days, even if i take my first hit in the morning before going to work.

smoking weed every day still is somehow a bad idea imo, and from time to time, i try to give it a rest and take a break. actually i want to reduce the frequency of my use, but it's somehow difficult for me right now (also struggling with quitting cigarettes right now, which is hard enough, but i haven't smoked more than 10 cigarettes in the last 3 months and the desire to smoke gets less and less).

Tried the getting high everyday thing for awhile. It was fun for the first couple of months. Then it just got boring and I was sick about how lazy I got.

I like not smoking for a long time and then taking a puff and flying. It is a lot more enjoyable IMO. But to each his own. I have lots of friends who smoke everyday and they don't seem to mind it. But it is hard to strike up interesting conversations with them. All they do is get high go to work go home get higher and play video games all night till they sleep.

freddy47 I do that routine all the time but have plenty of interesting conversations. Maybe your friends just arent interesting.

I've smoked weed everyday for the past four years or so. I haven't noticed any harm at all, my grades are fine and I still function the same as I used to. The only thing that sucks is my buds don't last as long and I've been spending a lot more than I used to. With any substance though you're going to build a tolerance and end up using more... weed isn't any different if you're going to smoke regularly.

I was diagnosed with social anxiety after I started smoking weed a lot, but I don't think it had anything to do with it. I've always been a really shy and quiet person my whole life, and always seemed to get really nervous around people especially those I didn't know. I think not dealing with the problem early on and letting it get worse and worse over time is what got the best of me, not weed. If anything, it's helped me relax more in social situations and makes me more talkative.

Smoking daily is fine, but all day every day is not, just because it can lead to becoming habituated to being high all the time. It's definitely no more harmful than having a couple of glasses of wine in the evening.

Stop trying to get around being sober. For fucks sake, just deal with life and learn to live healthy. Just cause you want to be high all the time, doesn't mean you should be. Seriously, grow up and face reality. You're becoming a desperate drug addict. Sobriety is a huge chunk of life. Learn to live with it. I'm not trying to be an asshole, but you're posts are starting to irritate me. Maybe you just need to hit rock bottom before you realize being high all the time is not what life is about.

I eat healthily, dont drink, occasional ketamine user though.
But i vape weed everyday of an evening time, i exercise everyday during the daytime.
Any harm come from this ?

^Of course not, but you don't have the same kind of attitude as the OP. It's completely different.
Candy_Raver, for your own sake I hope you learn to see and appreciate the joy there can be in a life without constant drug use. You were given some very helpful advice in the previous thread. I was hoping you would take it to heart.

I've been high almost everyday for the last 3 years .
I've taken a few breaks over this time however for tolerance . Each break was around 2weeks.

I haven't really noticed many side effects to be honest and this really baffeled me .
Of course everyones different but the only side effects I've noticed include ...
- I'm generally more introverted
- have a fairly decent tolerance
- slight lack of energy at times .e.g if I've smoked during the day I won't feel like going out with friends to clubs and drink . I just feel like sitting home instead.
- less depressed feelings . I used to feel depressed a lot before smoking . Now I hardly ever do.

- the worst side effect though is the amount of money I spend on weed . Good job I live in canada where weed is dank and cheap . If I were in the US I'd be spending half of each paycheque on weed :0

The biggest problem with everyday use will be those inevitable situations in life where everyday use isn’t possible. If you are going to have issues coping with being sober than you are going to have lots of uncomfortable situations ahead of you, better get used to the idea now by being sober once in a while :)

I definitely agree with this.

I was the same way for a while before I realized being stoned every second of every day was causing me more harm than being sober. When you're stoned everyday, you get used to it, and being sober becomes the new "high". It seems to me like you're trying to escape something in your sober life by being high all the time. Just deal with this issue, and you might realize you don't want to be stoned all the time. from reading many of your posts, it seems like you have a very addictive personality like me. Some people can lead functional lives and smoke everyday, some can't. What do you get out being stoned, besides not being sober?

Getting stoned everyday can lead to anxiety, paranoia, difficulty sleeping/eating/enjoying yourself fully if you ever run out. Also if you're smoking it rather than eating it then you're filling your lungs up with tar and you'll end up lower lung capacity and a nasty cough.

Compared to cigarettes the lung damage is pretty insignificant, and difficulty sleeping/eating/etc when you take a break is usually mild at best unless you have been smoking a lot. The anxiety that weed can cause can be severe and debilitating though, and as someone who used to suffer from severe anxiety (not from weed) I wouldn't wish that on anyone.

Finally the last noticeable downside I can see is that for the majority of people, weed lowers the frequency, clarity, and recall or dreams.

Thankfully, most of this only comes with heavy use. Light daily use is usually fine for most people.

However that said, I think it's worth taking off at least a couple of days a week where you don't smoke. You can get some nice vivid dreams in, give your tolerance a little breather, give your lungs a little time to clear out, and reduce any anxiety or other side-effects you've experienced if any.

I think if you keep the amounts reasonable, smoking 3-5 days a week shouldn't cause any real problems other than a nasty cough in the long run.

As others have said, the biggest problem being a heavy smoker is that life sucks more when you run out. If you already hate being sober, you'll hate it much more once "stoned" is your mindset for most of every day. I've been stoned (at least a little tiny bit stoned) as much or more than I've been sober for a few years, and everything is fine except for when I run out of weed my life really takes a dramatic plunge in quality.

Some people report negative mental effects from weed after long term use, like the paranoia and anxiety many have mentioned. That really depends on who you are though, I feel great as long as I have enough weed for a couple bowls a day, I've never had a bad experience with pot. I average about 4 or 5 bowls a day.

It's your call, no one else can make these decisions for you. There are ups and downs to being a pothead, just like any other drug.

Sorry if this has been mentioned, I didn't read every post...but another downside to smoking every day for many years is..once you get 5-10 years down the line, you realize you don't remember any of it. Add state dependent memory on top of that, and when you stop smoking you'll suddenly drop into having no recollection of whats been going on and maturity wise, be back to where you started.

Use common sense... doing any drug ALL day EVERYDAY will have side effects, eventually. Cannabis is just one of those that is on the very, very low end. In the name of HR and common sense, I close thy thread.
