....with those that are have interest in this medication that are suffering from nueropathic pain. There is A TON of misinformation out there about this drug, and from my personal experience, this drug is a God send for nuero pain. That's not to say it doesn't have its cons, but its well worth the expense of <no prices please> for my PM doc and the nucynta (soma as an adjuvant muscle relaxant and meloxicam an NSAID) in order to be pain tolerable.

If you have questions any about its pros and cons, feel free to drop me a line. :)

Also prescribed adderall 10mgs (which works well with the nucynta for pain relief and energy), as well as klonopin for a completely unrelated condition called night terrors. The klonopin is far from a cure, it just decreases the frequency and severity, though the trade off is lethargic negative hangover effects but some sleep is better than no sleep, right? The Adderall helps with the hangover effects. All meds I'm on are at the same dosages over the past 2 years. I had no need to increase ANY of my medications and they still work well at lower doses, so if there is any advice I can give, for medications that build dependency, the lowest effect dose is best when its a chronic condition. The Nucynta is surprisingly slow at building tolerance btw ;)

I loved Nucynta when I was taking it last summer for my messed up back. Its some good stuff but not everybody benefits from it. From my own perusing of the drug, it seems like its a 60/40% (60% repping who gets benefits from it) chance of being effective for the human populous. Worked great from me tho :)

Thanks for the welcome. As for knowledge, it started with trying to research what would work to help with my medical issues the most (starting with the night terrors) and continued into a fascination of pharmacology and exactly how the body works with its numerous systems and channels. I think it was also a matter of the idea that I'm on multiple medications and I want to know what its doing to my body so that in 20 years from now, I won't be growing a third arm, lol.

@aveoturbo, its certainly not for everyone and I really think its real benefit is the NRI reuptake. With tramadol, both the NRI and Mu agonism are lower than tramadol. With nucynta (tapentadol) the mu agonism is considerably less than other opioids like morphine (x18 times less bind to be exact) but combined with increased NRI activity, its enough to put the hammer down on certain types of nueropathic pain. For me, nucynta works better than most of the traditional opioids for pain and it also lasts about 6 to 7 hours. For those with nuero pain, it seems to be either a life saver.....or a nightmare. Some of the side effects profile extends to me but I get enough pain relief benefit that I'm willing to tolerate it. Also, it doesn't feel much like the traditional opioids. It creates a general feeling of wellbeing that's less sedating, and I think that adds to its theraputic value :)

Welcome to BL!!! I am new also, but if I can help you with anything just let me know.
