Vivid Star Dust
Bluelighter
just something i wrote on a rainy day ...
I look up at the rain,
Watching it’s fury pour down.
Each drop like a sin;
So many we don’t know where to begin.
Each puddle a pool of anger, of violence, of distrust, and jealousy.
We ask for forgiveness as it continues to rain heavily.
I watch as a bird tries to fly in the rain,
Each drop weighing down this bird’s wings.
The bird takes a plunge, but the wind holds it up.
Sins holding us back from being able to fly,
But in Jesus we can rely.
And be free from the weight of sin.
His love lets us be liberated
And protects us from the world’s hatred.
The water eventually ceases to fall,
Our sins are forgiven;
But the wetness like guilt stay.
In time, as the days go by it is dry again.
We have begged for the sun,
But when the rain is all done,
We still complain, longing for something else.
So the clouds will stay above,
Some days there may be sun, the others rain;
But everyday we must not take in vain.
We need to depend on God’s love.
And like the wind that holds up the bird,
Be a good friend and share God’s word.
Love will move the trees and spread many seeds,
It will guide us through a joyful life,
With less grief and less fight.
So when the clouds hover above,
I know I can turn to an everlasting love,
And I am now at peace with the rain.
I look up at the rain,
