Beating benzo withdrawal

"A significantly increased dementia risk (OR, 1.78 (95% CI 1.33–2.38) was observed among benzodiazepine users as compared to benzodiazepine non-users."

This is the latest metadata analysis and review that I think it was completed in 2023.

I knew the dementia thing.

It was the MS stuff that amazed me some. The healing. Any links great fully received
Not for me. For a friend. Sorry to hear about your illness but respect for being proactive n dealing with it. 💪❤️

It's a wonder that you stopped based on the research. It takes real intelligence to stop an addiction before personal experience. For me I had to learn the hard way. I was tripping down stairs alot. Benzos do something to your hips, and not in a good way... I was losing actual physical control. Like something wasn't sending the message to my hips and legs. I was still keeping up an intense yoga practice and bouldering until one day during a climb I felt all my bones crackle at once culminating in this intense pain in my spine and I had a feeling it was somehow connected with the benzo use and overall stress. And also I just was losing a certain connection with reality, was losing a sensual interest in real women, and blacking out every night at the lounges and bars from a bottle of red wine. Somehow I got home those nights and in my bed. My god, this went on for a year or so, I don't even know.
No, I live with significant muscle spasms because I would rather not be doped up. Not worry about dementia. Not worry about baclofen withdrawal. Not worry about benzo withdrawal then not have the pain.

And the benzodiazepines actually dealt with the MS neuropathic pain which doesn't have any real basis in physical damage to the peripheral nerves. It's completely excitatory or incorrectly parsed signals in the brain. So I would take Valium. It will calm my brain down and no pain and no muscle spasms.

But fuck that.

Prolonged fasting (48+ hours ) at least once a week.

Tell your friend to search alternate day! Fasting, rats, MS. See fasting a rat for a day is like fasting a human for 3 days so every other day fasting for a rat is like a 3-day-on 3 day off for humans. Anyway, when they tried to give rats that were fasting on an every other day. Fasting protocol, experimental autoimmune encephalitis, EAE - It is the animal model of multiple sclerosis in experiments- the rats wouldn't get sick.

When They first evinced rats with EAE and waited until they had hind leg paralysis, then started them on an alternate day Fast protocol, 70% of the rats recovered some or all of the lost function.

Fasting drastically lowers inflammation in the body. It reduces the NLRP3 inflammosome.

It is the most powerful inducer of autophagy in the brain as long as you fast at least 48 hours.

It also instigates the regeneration and renewal of stem cells.

I also take LIPOSOMAL Fisetin, LIPOSOMAL Quercetin, b. Complex vitamins, vitamin C. Zinc, a good multivitamin multi-mineral big chewable from the health food store. Vitamin d and k.

But, in December of 2021 through about February of 2022 I was intermittently bedridden where I could not physically get out of bed except to use the facilities and shower every couple of days. If I could walk I needed a cane.

Ocrevus treatment failed, my body developed an immune response to the monoclonal antibody. So I have not been on any disease modifying therapies since January of 2021.

After instituting the fasting, I started to recover function to the point where I don't need the cane anymore.

I've lost 35 lb, the optic neuritis that I was suffering from is completely gone. The nerve induced erectile dysfunction is gone. And literally the only difference is I just don't eat for 48 or 72 hours at least a week. Sometimes I do two 48 hour fasts in a week it depends on how I feel.

You can PM me and I'll actually give you my personal number to give to your friend. Because if I hadn't experienced the drastic changes that the prolonged fasting elicited with respect to my MS, I would not believe it.

Thankyou so much @snmfmy . There's a lot to process there. I'll pass it on to her. I appreciate you taking the time to share thankyou so much.

Have a good weekend!
