So I've been re-watching some of the news incidents that happened last year and scrolling through BL but haven't seen much info on 'Bathsalts'.

I know very little about them so thought that the gathering of information would be useful.

One of the reports that I saw said that it was like taking a combination of a methamphetamine and a stimulant, so it was like taking meth and coke at the same time. A lot of the results that have been big in the media are fairly negative, rage and suicide resultants from the drug. However I believe that this is due to the lack of knowledge and negligence by the users. It is most common in powder form and I think that the temporary ban in the US has been lifted. I also heard that one of the users who took his own life had $40 worth of Bathsalts. To me that sounds like an awful lot considering it's lack of popularity, ease of access and legality. I may be wrong though, there does appear to be some specialist producers, these may charge more and concentrate the drug more but I am unsure. Anyway, anyone have some knowledge on the subject or tried it? It doesn't seem reckamendable, but for those who are, they need to know.

Right well first of all they aren't bath salts. They are chemicals that are marketed under this way so that they cannot be banned or taken out of shops. In reality they are drugs that people take, and they all produce a high to some extent - they are legal highs. All "bath salts" are different, and there are many many research chemicals availiable that classify as bath salts so to speak.

That's all I can really say regarding your question as I'm not rally sure what you're asking within it.

I really don't recommend walking into a bed bath and beyond and purchasing real bath salts to try and get high on, you can't, and that would just be downright stupid and dangerous. Again taking what is marketed as bath salts but are actually chemicals to gdt you high legally is risky too. Please do some research on this, it's not difficult, and you've come across as a little silly with this post.

Yeah, we actually get this question a lot because of the way the media has portrayed "bath salts" as though it's the name of some specific drug. As synthetix said, there are a number of different chemicals that are/have been sold as "not for human consumption" in order to get around laws. One of the ways to do this is to sell them as "bath salts" or "plant food" (even though in reality they are neither, it's just a sneaky way to pretend they aren't selling them for human consumption).

If you had simply Googled "bath salts", the #1 result would be Wikipedia's entry which explains:

Bath salts is the informal "street name" for a family of designer drugs, often containing substituted cathinones, which have effects similar to amphetamine and cocaine. The white crystals resemble legal bathing products like epsom salts, and are called bath salts with the packaging often stating "not for human consumption" in an attempt to avoid the prohibition of drugs, but chemically have nothing to do with actual bath salts.

If a person gets something that is simply being sold as "bath salts" they have no idea what's actually in it. That's probably why you haven't seen a lot of info on "bath salts" here, because it's not one specific drug and here on BL we like to know what drug we are using and refer to it by name.

I assume the ban you are talking about was the DEA's temporary ban on a few of the drugs commonly sold as "bath salts", but there has since been enacted a US federal law that bans 2 of the drugs that were being sold as "bath salts", mephedrone and MDPV, along with some synthetic cannabinoids and their “analogues” - compounds that may differ slightly in their chemical makeup but produce very similar effects. We are an international forum and we don't normally allow legal discussion, so do some research on your local drug laws if you want to know more. I definitely do not advise you buy anything sold as a "bath salt" or "legal high" etc without knowing exactly what is in it and doing lots of research on the drug before deciding whether or not to use it.

I'm going to close this but please PM me if you have any questions.
