Barbiturates in Australia. Has anyone had any encounters with them? I know that Phenobarbital and Primidone are on the Status Epileptics list, but is there any other form of barbs in Australia?

If so, share your encounters. Whether it be in a hospital setting or recreational setting, I encourage all to post :).

Phenobarbitone/phenobarbital and primidone are the only drugs listed as barbiturates in the Australian Medicines Handbook

^ Thanks Divine Moments and Sameria. As far as I know barbituates have gone well out of fashion other than for surgical anesthesia. I didn't know about them being used for epilepsy though; you learn something every day :)

Sorry I can't see much further Harm Reduction value of this thread as it's basically a question of availability which is against the guidelines. If anyone does have access to barbituates and wants to discuss safe useage, interactions with other drugs etc. then please pm me and I'll consider re-opening the thread.
