I felt like writing down what is in my head at the minute. I wish I was better at articulating my mind onto paper. I hope I don't come across big-headed, I really don't mean to! Does anyone actually see sense in what I'm trying to say?
Life is about the balance between positive and negative.
If there was no negative then we could not appreciate the postive.
The only problem is enjoying the postive so much that the negative seems worse than normal.
Therefore we may try to decrease the negative, and try to have more positive times in life.
In reality, this decreases the postive because a lack of negative lowers our appreciation for the postive.
This balance can easily gain momentum either way, and so the pointlessness of life may expose itself to you.
Of course, positive and negative are relative. Each situation is different, further confusing this balance.
To try to find the balance is the key to understanding and appreciating life because an off-set balance means a confusion over what is positive and negative, and to what degree.
To find a good balance is hard in a socially constructed world, where it is never constant nor clearly defined.
The conflict between our inner thoughts and feelings and those of the world in which we live is an on-going one or else we would all be the same and therefore fundamentally dead.
Learn to show empathy and the consequences of the us versus them conflict will be lessened.
The 'I' doesn't make decisions over the balance
easier either, because we cannot escape our feelings and thoughts nor deny the constant conflict between the emotions of our heart and the consciousness of our mind. To balance these things; our emotions and thoughts and to evaluate and empathise with the social world in which we exist is to make the most of our life and to make the most of the lives of everyone we truely love and care about.
