This is about my fourth or fifth time detoxing from opiates. This time its from Oxycodone, but I did about a 9-10 taper and got my dose down to about 20mg/day.

Now I have quit Cold Turkey and never experienced stomach pain like this, its kind of like acid reflux in a way, but its pretty bad.

Current meds I'm on are the following:

Effexor XR 75mg
Lyrica 150mg BID
Bromazepam 3mg BID
Clonidine 0.1mg TID
Metoprolol 50mg BID
Zopiclone 7.5mg QHS

I just don't understand why I am getting such bad stomach pain this time. Maybe its from too much intranasal Hydromorphone use? Although I haven't used any Hydromorphone for almost two weeks. Just been tapering with OXY-IR.

Any recommendations for helping the stomach pain and nausea? I don't know why its so bad this time. I guess after 7 years of heavy opiate and benzo use I could expect this. I had my liver & kidneys tested last year at a rehab center and the doc said my liver & kidneys were in perfect condition.

So I don't understand, is it just withdrawal, or possibly something else?
I have a Nexium sample pack, and Gaviscon. Like I said, I've quit Cold Turkey at way higher doses like over 200mg + of Oxycodone per day and never experienced stomach pain like this before. This time I am down to 20mg per day, but now all out of Oxy. :\

I can't comment on why you're experiencing this for the first time but I can say I've experienced rather intense stomach pains in withdrawal. Loperamide was a massive helper in that aspect. Try that first, if it helps,it's definitely withdrawal related. If not, it's entirely possible you were masking a stomach condition with opiates. Try acid reflux meds and other obvious OTC remedies. If that doesn't work, I would see a doctor.

Effexor could cause stomach upset, I wouldn't be surprised if this was the culprit.

I've been on Effexor XR for just about a year though now, and I don't think this is the case.

But thanks for the replies guys. Yeah, Loperamide helps with the shits and stuff like that, but doesn't really help my stomach to well. :\

Could it be all the backed up shit from the opiate constipation loosening up inside you and you just happened to be really backed up?
Just an idea.
But if that is the case.. loperamide would make it worse.
