Earlier in the day I had used amphetamine. Occasionally I will get anxiety attacks and prefer some form of GABAergic or depressant to stop the anxiety.

Unfortunately at this particular time of the day my only option was suboxone. Knowing that I have no opiate tolerance, I decided on taking 2mg then another 2mg an hour later.

All in all I felt great for 2 hours. It killed my anxiety attack. Side effects were minimal and I was back in a good mind state.

8o
3 hours in, suddenly a switch flipped and I began to have awful anxiety again. I started sweating and nearly vomitted. I was unable to walk without getting horrible nausea. I looked in the mirror and my eyes had dark circles under them like that of a malnourished junkie. I could not eat. My vision was constantly blurred as my eyes kept going cross-eyed. I took my prescribed klonopin and immediately I felt like I was in a battle to stay awake. My breathing became very shallow. I had no one to watch over me. I felt like maybe falling asleep would be a horrible idea.

I felt sick. Like how opiate addicts describe dope sickness, but I've never been hooked on opiates in my life.

Was this an allergic reaction? Do suboxones normally do this to non-opiate users? I wish to know, because I'm still suffering some of the fatigue, but nearly as much sickness as earlier.

To be honest, it sounds like you too much Suboxone. 4mg is a lot (too much) for somebody without opiate tolerance. You're not experiencing precipitated withdrawal, it just sounds like you took too much. The extreme nausea you experienced is typical of a buprenorphine overdose.

How are you feeling now?

Still sweating. Nausea. Can't eat. Just wanna lie down and sleep.

I had horrible advice given to me twice that could have possibly killed me. The first was the guy who gave me the sub told me to take the full 8mg or take 2.

The next was a friend telling me that ghb would solve the problem.

I chuckled IRL, sorry =D

Eat some (2nd-3rd gen) antihistamines if you have them lying around. Nothing much else you can do in this situation other than wait it out. Find something amusing to hold your attention online. I suggest cheesy flash games and youtube.

Thanks for the responses. I fell asleep and woke up feeling great. Finally got some food in me.

The guy I got the subs from was a heavy Opana/heroin user. So obviously he was going to think "Moar is better".

As for the GHB advice, they just tried to convince me G was not a depressant even though it is a potent GABA-b agonist. (I know its a stimulant at lower doses.)

I think that was a wake up call to seek out better alternatives rather than grabbing the first downer I see.

glad to hear you're feeling a lot better now, man!

this serves as a good reminder to not just take word of mouth info even from a trusted friend/source, and especially if their DOC is opioids - unfortunately this kind of thing happens too often. do the research yourself and work your way up in a comfortable setting to avoid this sorta problem again:)

Well, the sad thing is, that wasn't the first time I had done suboxone. The first time, it was 2mg and the high lasted all but 12 hours. It was a great experience.

This time I chose 4mg. It's been over 24 hours and I still feel lethargic, but not completely sick.

You were a mod here and you don't thoroughly research appropriate doses for someone without a tolerance to the drug you are about to take? ffs

I'm glad you're feeling better man. I recommend 0.5-1.5mg dosage for somebody without opiate tolerance to use to comedown from amphetamines.

Be glad you didn't take the whole 8mg or even 16mg.

...and, always have antihistamines (diphenhydramine, doxylamine and chlorpheniramine are go-to antihistamines for opiate use...all three are available OTC in the U.S.) available when taking opiates, particularly Suboxone.

I wasn't on any other CNS depressant and I had taken 2mg earlier this year with no side effects.

I figured 4mg may give me a tad bit of nausea, but I was not expecting two days of zero appetite, cold-hot sweats and wanting to sleep constantly. I have done research, but due to the fact subs are for opiate addicts, the starting dose for an addict is much higher than that of I, who does not partake in opiate activities.

I'm just glad this whole thing was a minor overdose and not an allergic reaction.

I'm probably not going to touch suboxone again. Nor will I need to. I took it, because I had no other alternative to stop an anxiety attack. My clonazepam script was 30 miles away.

The information on starter recreational use by non-opiate users is not something that commonly talked about in my opinion.

It's just the duration of this OD that is on my nerves. It's now somewhat comfortable, but I need to eat and work on school things.

Buprenorphine is a very long acting opiate. Right up there with methadone.

I've had high dose experiences on buprenorphine that lasted longer than 48 hours....

I'll be kickin' by tomorrow. I have DPH and clonazepam. Till then I have school work to do while I can't really exercise.

You can close the thread if you'd like.
